Use to be able to do this now it seems the only way to connect the time capsual and the fios supplied router is to do BRDIGE connection and not DHCP or DHCP and NAT why is this? Worked up until I did a factory restore on the Time Capsual wich was today.

After the facttory restore is by any chance the time capsule now defined to be a dhcp server on the 192.168.1 subnet?
If you are going to connect from a lan port on the verizon router to the wan port of the apple device it will have to be on a different subnet I would also suggest that you make the wan address of the apple device a static address on the 192.168.1 subnet.
