 I have tried to install the in home agent twice and I get an error message 1722. I am running Windows 8.

The link I found on VZ's site does not mention that it is compatible with windows 8. Personally I have not run into any issues that I needed this software for. Are you having any problems now? If not I would wait until a compatible version is released

I prefer using the online version of the in home agent found at www.verizon.com/repair
