moving favorites and address book from Comcast to Fios Internet

This question may sound silly, but when I make the switch from Comcast to Verizon for Fios internet service, do all of my saved favorites move automatically, or must I manually move the folders and files myself?  And will the same thing apply with my address book for email?  I figure I'd probably have to keep my Comcast account open for a few weeks, so that I can make sure all my email addresses get updated, and I don't miss any, unless Verizon has some sort of automatic forwarding system for my old email.  As you can tell, I'm not the most tech-savvy, and any help would be appreciated!

If you are using an email client like Outlook or Outlook Express, then you don't have to move anything.  If you use their website to check your email then you can go to www.trueswitch.com/verizon and it will automatically move your address book over, notify your contacts of your new email address and forward emails for awhile.  Just leave the Comcast account open until its complete, takes 3 or 4 days.

DerkB is correct, if you have outlook, your are more then good to go! If you use the webmail, then maybe not so good.  You will have to use trueswitch to move over all your contacts and etc.

Thanks - unfortunately, I'm using the webmail, but fortunately my contact list isn't very large.  My bigger concern would be all the bookmarks (banking, billpaying, etc) that I would have to manually save to my new account.  Does Trueswitch do that too?

You really should not have to worry about the bookmarks, but just to make sure nothing screwy happens (microsoft), i would export your bookmarks to a flash drive or your desktop.

Does comcast e-mail account have to be closed before all e-mails in their inbox will be moved to verizon via trueswitch?

No, I think once you close your Comcast account, any mail sent to that account will be returned to the sender.  What I did was set up the True Switch about a week and a half ago, which gave me a chance to have all the e-mails forwarded to my new Verizon account while my Comcast was still open.  I also used the feature that sent a message to my contacts telling them about my new address.  Then I could see what was still coming in to the old address and make any changes I needed to (subscriptions, credit card accounts, etc.)  True Switch worked great:  all my saved mail and sub-folders, contacts, etc. came right over.

Wishful thinking. My experience with both Cox and Qwest was that while they disabled my email account, so I could no longer log in and retrieve my mail, they didn't actually shut it down for literally months.. If I send email to my old Qwest account, it bounces, but only because the mailbox has past the storage limit, not because it isn't there any longer.

They are much better about disabling your access to email then they are about removing your email account, so when you discontinue your service, often any mail destined there goes into the proverbial bit bucket, and is NOT returned. It seemed to take literally months for the email account to actually be removed so mail would bounce instead of disappear.

The Verizon salesperson told me that my Road Runner email will continue to work for 6 months; is that not true?

There are many sites I have registered for that I am concerned I won't find soon. For example, MySpace; it is very difficult to change the email address for a MySpace account when we don't have access to the email that the account has in it. Fortunately I took care of that, but I almost missed it. I am concerned about missing others, though, so I asked the salesperson about this explicitly, to ensure I will have more time; it seemed unlikely to me that I would have 6 months but he was very confident when he said I will have 6 months.

If I lose all my email from my Road Runner account as soon as I discontinue Road Runner, then I will sure not be happy. If the salesperson was incorrect, then that is not the only incorrect thing that the salesperson said.
