need help with connection issue

Hello,

I have a home network with one desktop and two laptops which were working fine since August. My subscription to Norton 360 recently expired so rather than renew it i decided to go with Verizon's Security suite. Got it installed on ny Desktop (Vista) and one laptop (XP)  ok but on my newer laptop which runs vista home premium it froze in the middle of installation and now depite several restarts etc cannot get an ip address from the router. I consistenly get an ip beginning with 169...... which i know is wrong but for the lif eof me cannot get this laptop to relase that invalid one and get a new one from the router?

Any suggestions or help i am all ears..
