i recently had fios tv and internet installed and have had nothing but problems so far...so i decided to go into actiontec settings and restore factory defaults...but when i did it and logged back in under the main page under my network only my current pc was shown...all the stb's were gone so i loaded back the previous configuration...if i restore to facoty again will they boxes show up eventually? does it matter?
also under firewall settings, port forwarding theres 2 seperate networked connections both going to same port going to the same mutli room dvr ip address, both say Application - UDP Any -> 1 Broadband Connection (Ethernet) Active.....why are there 2 of the exact same ones, is this messing something up?
i dont know what the hell happeneded but as soon as i activated the new mutli room dvr i have had nothing but issues with tv and internet...i tried rebooting everything extc
basically i just want to restore factory defaults but want to know why none of the stbs show back up? and is there some kind of conflict with the mutli room dvr port forwarding?

The STB's will show back up when they need something...
like the next hour/days worht of guide info, using the MR-DVR feature, VOD, etc...
defaults are fine... Verizon gives it to you in default mode
dont worry about the rules that atre there by default, they are there for a reason

after you factory reset the router you want to make sure to try to log in and make sure it was reset. If it was reset it will have you setup a new username and password.
The boxes will show up in the router once they try to connect again, you can also pull the power for 30 seconds on the box to get it to show up again.
on the new dvr try going to help and then self diagnostic, the oob ratio should be over 20, if not you are going to have issues you may want to try adjusting the wires or calling into verizon for support.

oob shows 21...so thats acceptable range right
after router restore under network properties it says use the following dns server address then theres just zero's and under broadband connections ethertnet it says obtain dns automatically
1. this is normal right?...also looks like port forwarding issue was cleared up from the restore
2. so after the factory restore is there anything i need to do? or is everything like QOS for the boxes already done
3. also under the main page it says the pc and coax stb say they have staitc ip under ip address allocation...i thought they use to say DHCP?

after a factory reset everything is set the way it needs to be in the router in order for it to work, it may say static but that is because the boxes have special rules written for them to route properly in the firmrware.

If you cycle the power on the STBs, they will go back out and get an IP address, which will put them back in the list. This may be required if the previous settings in the router used a different network addressing scheme.
