So I get the 'Reserved for Only our BEST CUSTOMERS - Renew Early and We'll Give You all Movie Channels free for 2 years and Upgrade you to Quantum 75/75...' email and snail mail offer.  SEE BELOW 

 

I did it because I am, for the most part, happy with FIOS; have been a solid customer for many years.

 

Boom...oh BTW, on the order confirmation is a $49.95 "Upgrade Fee"

 

Thanks for being our best customer and for responding to our offer...no, it says nowhere on the offer (even small print) anything about the 'Upgrade Fee'.

 

To boot...the free channels don't work until the "Install Date" (yes...remember the part about already being a current Best & Loyal customer for years?).  Install Date is not scheduled for another three weeks ??

 

Wow...what happened !?!?!   I'm really bummed and disappointed to be honest.

"FDV Admin Fee, & other fees, taxes, equipment charges & terms may apply." - I think that's what covers the upgrade fee.

 

Not supporting the fee, just showing where it was "covered" according to the lawyer-types.

Thanks...I'm trying to help other users by letting them know of this $50.00 unexpected cost.

 

I tried the Customer Service Agent route and it went nowhere.

 

There are plenty of other disclosed costs/fess listed but not this one...unsat.

Thanks for the heads up. Welcome comments from other loyal users on the GOTCHAS.

 

Ran into this last month.upgrade now and save$40!  AH, NOPE. $79 triple play misses NATGEO, DISCOVERY, AHC, history,etc. So we went with$99 tier....bill added 4.99 sports broadcasting fee, $1.99 some other fee that cust svc said was Gov mandated!???? understand state and federal taxes but not rest of these line items.

 

STOP QUOTING BUNDLE PRICE..set-top boxes extra, franchise fees not included. STOP MAILING weekly a $300 rebate ad if only for NEW customers. Yes, tv pic is nice. Isp speed great. SPAM RIDICULOUS as well as unsolicited phone calls unblocked, UNAVAILABLE caller id.

Every provider only quotes bundled pricing.

Too hard to try and quote equipment (how many boxes do you price) and fees (different areas have differing taxes and fees.
