I am a new user to Verizon Fios internet and am so tired of the mess I am ready to go back to comcast.  The techs don't seem to know how to fix any of the problems.  It takes almost 8 min to open the explorer.  Is there no answers to be had to fix this? I tried the speed optimizer but all I get is a message that there is some kind of error that my computer won't let it open.

Are you wireless or dp u have that pc directly connected to a yellow and numbered lan port on the router.

Have u optimized the pc at www.verizon.net/optimize

And do u have firefox or google chrome. If u don't have them download 1 and try it to view webpages. Let me know if it runs any better on an alternative browser.

1st if you are running Vista or Windows7, you must right click on your your browser link and select run as administrator. Otherwise the software can not perform the required changes to optimize your PC, and you may get errors when you attempt it.

Are you sure your PC is clean and free of bad software. These both have free versions.

Do you have Virus protection?

   "8 minutes to open Internet Explorer"  - could be your computer or browser too. Have you recently cleared the cache and  deleted old temporary files and browsing history? What operating system, processor and how much RAM do you have? (i.e. Windows XP / P4 / 2GB, etc)
