I have my verizon router connected to my linksys router, but I would like to use my linksys router to change my ip address. Is this possible?
You need to describe what you want better.
Have you purchased a set of addresses from Verizon? If not you can only use one of the Are you trying to have one device assigned a particular ip address within your available addresses. note last digits 0 and 255 are reserved for certain special purposes.
10.0.0.0 to 10.255.255.255
172.16.0.0 to 172.31.255.255
192.168.0.0 to 192.168.255 255
I believe all the verizon routers default to 192.168.1.1 for the router and 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.254.
You can set most of the Verizon routers to always assign a specific address to your linksys or set it to not assign part of the range and assign one manually. And you can set your verizon to control some of the addresses in one of these ranges, and your linksys to control another range. Rather than using the same subnet (which can be tricky), I have my Verizon actiontec assign 192.168.1.2 to my netgear, and my netgear use 10.0.0.0 range. This limits a few things, but nothing I care about.

and if this Linksys router is not handling the public IP, the answer to their question in this thread is no (can use Linksys to change the WAN IP).
