Verizon Fios advertises 11000 free on demand titles. 11000--wow that's a bunch! Now try to find them! I've gone thru customer service 4 times and every time I get the same-- -HUH?.

Anybody out there have a clue how to access 11000 FREE on demand titles--or is this misleading advertising, again.

Part of it is misleading. A good portion of what they include in their so called free VOD is the "premium channels". If you get HBO for example, there are many titles available on the HBO on demand at no extra cost, hence free. But you have to be subscribed to that channel before it is available.

Also notice that they say "titles" not movies. So all the exercise videos, diy shows, instructional videos, etc are included in that. Oh they have a lot of those kids shows, soap operas, network shows, exercise videos, etc but they lead you to believe that they have a lot of free movies but dont.

They technically do have all those free titles.....if you meet certain qualifications. Which only shows in the fine print.

I'll say up front that I have no way of knowing whether this lists all VOD shows; however, their VOD Listing is available on the My Verizon page.  The link is "All On Demand Titles" which takes you to FiOS TV Central.  Click "Video On Demand" and then click "VOD Listings".  You can filter the entire list to only display the free shows.  The filtered list includes truly Free and Free* where the asterisk means "Free VOD with Subscription Packages".  The total I came up with today was 7636 free titles.  Yesterday it was 7615.  Even with no filter, it is only 9304 which is well below the "17,000 VOD channels every month" that Verizon lists in the FIOS ad.  Although I have no way of knowing whether this listing is exactly the same as what is delivered to the STB, I would hope this list was linked or updated from the official listing.  I've seen other forum users ask about the "over 11,000 free titles" number, but no information regarding this discrepancy between this listing and the FIOS ads.

I subscribe to all of the premium channels, How do I access the free on-demand movies?  Is there a certain channel to go to?

Go to channel 900 or press the on demand button on your remote. select browse all and then select premium subscribtions. From there you can select any or all of the premium channel on demand movies, specials etc.

Hmmmmmmm, me thinks we have yet another troll. Is it me or does there seem to be a lot of "NEW" forum members with only one post. And of course that one post is complaining about some phantom issue.

And personally I have not seen any ad or promotion with Verizon claiming to have 11,000 VOD choices. Not saying it doesn't exist but I have never seen it. Sort of reminds me of that Philadelphia Cable company and their grossly overblown and flat out lies with their claim of having the most HD. LOL

It's the comerical where the fios tech is called back to a home where he recently installed fios. The customers claim they are receiving too many channels and try to tip the tech $5.00, which he turns down. He then states that "Fios offers over 11000 on demand movies and shows each month".

I just saw it over the weekend. And now my WORST nightmare is happening, Verizon is starting to turn into Comcast!!!!!!!!!!!! Smiley Sad Dropping channels while LYING to us and telling us it is for our benefit (that is a load of dung) and now making exorbitant claims about their VOD.

They are some of the biggest reasons I left Comcast in the first place.
