I got an email today stating that West coast HD feeds of Action Max, Thriller Max, TMC, and TMC Xtra are going away on 6/21/10. If this means they are making room for more HD channels that we do not have, yay! IMO, VZW could axe all the West coast HD feeds and replace with HD channels we want \ other providers have....

I am extremely UNHAPPY about thisi!! Instead of dropping channels people ACTUALLY watch, why aren't they dropping those god awful .tv channels to make room!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? I tend to watch the West Coast feed because of my work schedule etc.
This is the exact same crap Comcast pulled a few years ago and was one of the reasons I dropped them.
They better be replacing these channels wiht BBCA-HD, G4 HD and other channels like that or I am going to dump Verizon.
Why on earth are those .tv channels still around, NOBODY watches them. Hell, 75% of the time they are airing really bad infomercials in SD!!!!!!!!!! The other 25% of the time they are airing the same shows over and over and over and over and over and over and over................That is the REAL waste of space, not the West Coast feeds!!!

so they're taking away the west coast feeds - I can live with that. But what are they replacing them with? I haven't heard anything from VZ about that. They want more room for HD - you can also take away those **bleep** .tv channels and those dumb channels that don't show the Yankees or Mets games. So how about it - where are the replacement channels?

I too am extremely unhappy about losing the west coast feeds (you just know the rest of the west coast feeds will follow). They were one of the things that got me to switch from Comcast after the FiOS free trial. I watch these quite often when I look at the guide and see something that I would like to watch but has already started. I know that I can catch it in a little while from the beginning on the west coast feed.
In addition I agreed to pay them a large premium for "x" number of HD Movie channels but do you think they will adjust my bill downward for the loss of these channels? They suggested in my email that I make use of my DVR-STB. What a load of crap! That thing is mostly useless for me since I can't keep any of the movies/shows that I want to save for "future" viewing. I have to erase stuff I haven't seen yet to record something else since the capacity is ridiculously small for HD recording. That will be cured as soon as I can finish my HTPC and remove that {word filter avoidance} DVR. Granted I will lose some things but I will gain far more than I will lose.
Anyway, I just wanted to express my displeasure (not that it will do any good) and this seemed to be the most likely post.

Removing HD channels is unacceptable. This is an absolute step backwards for Verizon.
Even if they are just time shifted west coast feeds, if the channel is available in HD is needs to be carried in HD. If channels need to be removed to make bandwidth for new channels, SD channels that have also have a HD feed should be dropped. Particularly Premium channels (How many premium channel customers don't have HD in 2010 !!?? ) An HD STB can easily down convert those channels for SD customer that wish to receive them.
