Big Ten Network--Maryland vs. Indiana

I am at a loss as to why FIOS is only showing this game on standard definition in Maryland. I realize that only one of the BTN football channels is in HD, but why wouldn't that channel be reserved for the Maryland game for viewers in this state? Surely it can't be that difficult to rotate the available games between the different Big Ten Network channels based on the location of the viewers. The Big Ten Network states that it places no restrictions on which channels the providers use for particular games, so clearly this is a FIOS issue and it is an unfortunate one.

Bump.

Comcast moved the game to it's BTN HD channel!

DirectTV has all the BTN channels in HD!

FIOS, what's your move?  At least move maryland games to the HD channel in the DC area.  Even better, match DirectTV and have all BTN channels in HD.

Because Maryland is small market comapred to Penn State which is the prefered home team for the NYC metro area which is Verizon's home. Keep in mind Rutgers is not even the perfered home team for the NYC metro.  I could be wrong but I don't think Verizon can put the local home team  like Maryland on the main BTN channel for Maryland customers.

That's exactly what he's asking for! To put maryland on the main BTN for maryland/DC customers.

I couldn't agree more.  In the DC metro area, including all NOVA and Maryland suburbs, there is no reason whatsoever why the main BTN channel, 585, is not showing the Terps game every single time (i.e. irrespective of what the other games might be that day).  DC is a Maryland town, period!  The same goes for the upcoming basketball season.

I just gave you a good reason why?  If you don't like it all you can do is cancel your service and get a provider that does not base regional sports decisions on the NYC Metro.  Same goes to the Verizon customers in the PAC-12 region as Verizon just does not care if there are not "enough" complaints.  The recent SEC channel mess clearly shows this:

Note it was the HUGE backlash of no SEC network and then no in HD that those channes were added.  Many in NYC metro complained about SEC network, so it got added.  Verizon could careless about smaller markets not getting their local game.
