Cinemax Suite Is Changing

On or after June 1, 2013, Cinemax® will make changes to two channels:

• @MAX (channels 429SD and 929HD), which currently features contemporary movies, will become MAX Latino, a Spanish language version of the Cinemax main channel (420SD and 920HD), with hit movies, original series, and more

• WMAX (channels 428SD and 928HD), which currently features movies for women, will become MovieMAX, a movies-only channel with a wide selection of recent Hollywood hits, blockbusters, classics, and more

celticpride, I'm glad your happy ..I've just lost another Movie package English speaking channel that I actually pay for to a yet another foreign language version which I am now forced to pay for. Officially have now have half the actual Movie channels that I'll ever watch and was promised which is why I got the bundled mess to begin win ...MOVIES!!!! I started out with about some 15-20 channels, I  now have about 8-10 which I can watch.  I would only hope accommodations in those foreign countries would be the same as Verizon is here. I think Verizon which based in the USA should accommodate their "English speaking patrons first, but hey that might just be me. I not thinking of taking up Spanish anytime soon either ..To just watch my TV.

Actually, watching a "spanish language channel" with the captions (in English) is an interesting way to learn to speak Spanish!

pkegney - it sounds to me like this is a change that Cinemax is making to one of their channels.  It has nothing to do with Verizon.  Verizon is simply carrying the same channels they always have and the network is changing it's programming.  If you find it to be an issue call Cinemax to complain or drop the package.

Ansky, actually Cinemax has always had a Latino package, I had this available when I was with Cablevision. HBO has always had one too however it came as an add-on package as did most of other foreign language programming plus all those sport channel packages.

So I beg to differ on it being a Verizon issue. Verizon contracts for over 1750 channels surely some of those infomercial channels could get dumped rather than channels people are watching or their customers pay for. I mean nobody watches those, do they? There are so many 'Free' channels that in a sense we all actually pay for (ROTFLMAO). Surely you would like to have your moneys worth if you must pay for it!

Edit I for got to add the changes to Showtime channels: Verizon use to carry TMC, TMCw, TMCXTRA & TMCXTRAw channels (8 channels) in SD & HD then dropped TMCXTRAw  SD & HD and TMCw HD (3 Channels) just for the additional sports channels I believe was YES, MSG and some High School sports channel. Conversely I do not watch any sports at all so this wasn't a bonus for me either whilst this may have benefited some I'm paying for this worthless change. In conclusion packages that were once sold as addons are not part of my regular subscription.
