Well, in the short time I've had Fios I've found that 1) ny in-home PC network no longer works right (their solution is to hook p my old router to their router), and now 2) I'm missing watching the Caps because Verizon isn't offering CSN+.  I just got off the phone with them (after 15 mi of having my ear blasted with some music being played at a volume so loud, my phone was vibrating on the table) only to be told "oh well, sorry"

I was a Comcast customer as well, and I would have no problem going back if channels I had before aren't made available.

C'mon Verizon .. fix this.

I'm here to complain about the CSN+ debacle.  I've been searching for the Caps game.  It's on the NHL network, but CSN has blocked that.  I looked at the Guide for Fios 1, but it said something else.  So, I've been complaining to the Fios online help guy.  Just now I checked by actually going to Fios 1 and it's there.  It's a pretty crummy SD signal, but it's there.

I never had this kind of a problem with DirecTV and I was a customer there for a long time.  With DirecTV I could have gotten someone on the phone to talk to about this, but not Verizon.

Fios TV should have CSN+ in HD and not this SD signal that's very poor.  C'Mon Fios get it right.

SteveT,

Comcast only broadcasts CSN+ in standard def.

Verizon FiOS cannot give it to you any better than they get it from Comcast.

Remaining schedule - half of the Capitals' games scheduled to air on CSN+ are behind us.Yay!

However, we have six more left to endure:

Dec. 12 & 19

Jan 5, 12, and 26

Feb. 5

The Wizards, on the other hand, have 12 of their 14 scheduled CSN+ games in front of them including 3 in a row on Dec. 23, 26, and 28. I suspect we might see more posts here from Wizards fans at about that time.

Please don't forget to remind CSN that they are responsible for this situation, too. They can be reached at viewermail@csnwashington.com

Just like Verizon, they seem to want to keep this whole thing quiet, and act like everything's just fine. They probably don't want to be reminded that in 2007, Verizon had the same problem carrying the part time feed for MASN2. MASN had it fixed the next week by providing a full time feed with ESPNEWS as filler. Maybe MASN actually wanted people to be able to see their games. They probably also don't want to be reminded that as far as HD game production, CSN has fallen behind a channel that has only been around since 2005,

We'll miss some stuff on CSN+ again on Sunday, but next week we'll miss the Caps again. In what seems to have become a Saturday tradition, the Caps play Toronto again on Hockey Night in Canada. Once again, everyone in Canada and the U.S. will be able to see the game, but it will be blacked out for us on NHL Network since it's available on CSN+.

Don't let the parties involved forget that we're missing out. It''s pretty minor in the grand sceme of things, but I pay Verizon over $200.00 a month so I can have access to what I want to see on TV.

Once again, I want to express my thanks to Mike Holden for blogging on this subject. Here's his latest-http://mikeholden.wordpress.com/2009/12/05/caps-wizards-fans-verizon-fios-has-solution-for-the-over-...

This is the most promising one I've seen so far!

The next "plus" programming is an ODU game this Friday. I'll be watching the Hurricanes - Capitals game, but of course I'm really curious to see if Verizon can make this happen by then since Saturday's game in Toronto is on CSN+.

CSN+ still isn't here, and won't be for tomorrow's game, but Mike Holden has been doing more digging for us. He asked about a timeline, but (understandably so) the Verizon rep on Twitter was not allowed to give out dates for specific issues. It was added that Verizon is "doing the plumbing to get the signal from CSN to us".

While it's frustrating that we'll miss another game, it's nice that they are finally working on this. I'm thinking they might be testing it this weekend to make sure the CSN signal is getting there properly and the channel is switching feeds at the right times. It's hard to understand why Verizon can't get this straight, but I remember the problems that Comcast had when they first started the channel. One time, they switched off of the feed halfway through overtime, just before Overchkin scored his fourth goal of that game. Yes, I guess I would rather wait for Verizon to get it right than to have that happen again.
