Do I have any options when Verizon changes channel lineups in my TV plan?

In December 2011, I signed a two-year agreement with Verizon for their ‘Triple Play’ bundle, including the ‘Prime’ TV package, which included those cable channels I most watch.  Last month, I was informed that a substantial number of those ‘most watched’ channels are now included only in the ‘Extreme’ and ‘Ultimate’ packages.  The ‘replacement’ channels are junk shopping ones.

Upgrading to the ‘Extreme’ TV package will raise my cable bill by 12% per month, and I am informed that I cannot change any element of my service without automatically agreeing to a new, two-year extension.  Conversely, if I drop my cable in protest, I must pay the remaining year on my service.

Can anyone offer a remedy?

I don't believe this info is correct.  At least in the past people have changed packages without having to reup.

I agree,  a year or so ago I changed my package and did not have to re-up for 2 yrs.  Now if they have changed something recently I am not aware, but I was able to in 2011.

When you sign an agreement, you consent that Verizon can add, remove, and move channels. I'm sure you read everything when you signed up and said "I agree".
