I need the ability to extend recording time for selected recordings without setting up a series. For example, I often select one football game to record. Since they often last longer than the scheduled length, I need to extend the recording by 30 - 60 minutes to insure I get the whole game. The problem I find is that I cannot extend the recording without setting up a series. If I setup a series it is easy to fill up the DVR and loose the selected, desired football game and keep the last one or two games that have been broadcast. Is there a way to do what I want? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Dean

The only way I know of is to create a Manual Recording rather than recording a "program" from the Guide.
DVR ==> Create Recording ==> Manual Recording ==> enter the channel, start date, start time, end time, and recurring option (probably Never based on your wanting only one recording)
The recording can be for up to 6 hours.
Maybe there is another way, if so hopefully someone will chime in.

Once you set up the recording pull up the scheduled recording and you can modify the start and end times. I believe that you can start up to 15 minutes early and end up to 2 hours late.
I do this all the time for sporting events and for programs that I schedule to record that are on after sporting events that may run late and throw the whole schedule off.

I think the key statement here was "Without Setting Up A Series" if you try to extend the recording it actually creates a series. To my knowledge the way Justin described it is the only way.

I disagree. I extend Individual Sports Records all the time and NEVER create a Series Recording. I also manually extend the Sunday Recording for a 7 days series in case sports programming has thrown things out of wack.

Well, I just went in and did what Brian said would work, and it certainly seems to. I just went to tomorrow in the Guide, selected a baseball game to record, exited the Guide, hit the DVR button and went to View Schedule, selected the ball game, and sure enough I could extent the time up to 120 minutes. No series involved. Only downside is the multiple steps.
So thanks Brian, that is certainly easier than the procedure I described (but at least mine does work too )
