Much tricker then that.

The Verizon On-demand site is implemented totally different then some of the others that TIVO can access.

Well let me ask this, Why can't Verizon fix the problem and give it's customers the service they pay for? I'm sorry but if Comcast can find a way to give their customers what they pay for, the more technically advanced Verizon should find an answer to this problem.

I know it depends on what you subscribe to, but I find there are many other ways to access the missing VOD programming from using a Tivo with FiOS. For instance, if you subscribe to any of the premiums you can use HBO Go, Showtime Anywhere, Cinemax, Starz and Encore Play, etc. Most newtork programming is available using their apps, or if you subscribe to Hulu Plus. Same with TNT, TBS, etc. Yes, I wish it were easier and that it could all be accessed directly through my Roamio, but I still believe the Tivo benefits far outweigh the missing VOD.

As stated before, it is the technology.

Verizon VOD is incompaitble with using a CableCard.

So they would have to totally redo their VOD system.

BTW, they are not Verizon cable cards. They are standard cablecards that Verizon (and others) buy.

Just like a lot of other things, you have to make a choice in what options your service providers offer.

Verizon has their selling points, Comcast has theirs.

You mention the cost of STBs.

Yet TIVO is a few hundred dollars up front plus a monthly fee (or another one time fee).

There are lots of back and forth as to what is more cost effective.

You make your choice, and I make mine.

When is Verizon FiOS going to allow video on-demand via TiVo?  What is the timing for Verizon to roll this out?  As others have shared, Comcast has offered this for years!  If Verizon FiOS is supposed to be technologically advanced over Comcast there is no excuse for why Verizon FiOS doesn't offer their on-deman content directly through the TiVo box. I do not want to have to pay for a separate Verizon cable box each month just to access content that I'm already paying for!  What is Verizon's response to this as of June 24, 2015?

If VOD is really that important to you, then FiOS with TiVo is not the way to go. You should switch to Comcast.

Well I will after my 2 year agreement is up. And maybe the installer should inform the customer that a service they pay for will not be available.

BTW, this is a peer to peer support forum.

Verizon doesn't respond to posts here.

I'm not sure why your original post was marked solved as it has definitely not been solved. I had Comcast until we moved to an area that only has Verizon fios. At my last home, we had just got access to Comcast on demand via TiVo. I don't believe for one moment that it is a system limitation. If Verizon wanted to provide on demand to their TiVo customers the technology is out there to make it happen. They probably just don't want to make it happen so they can force their customers to rent their equipment.

The Verizon system does not support on demand to cable cards.

Its that simple.

Yes other cable systems support on demand for cable cards, but Verizon chose a different technology.
