Three months ago I was given three months of HBO for free. This was out of the blue and something I never asked for. Now the last day was supposed to be May 31st and I am still receiving these channels.
Am I getting billed for these channels as of June 1st?

Hi astouffer,
If you never requested the channels (or communicated that you accepted a free preview), then it would be illegal for Verizon to cram them onto your bill. If you did request them or communicate that you accepted them, then it was up to you to call and cancel them before the preview ended.
I would look around and try to find the original offer (mail, email, bill insert). This would help you remember if you or anyone in your house accepted an offer. If not, I would just let it be. If the channels remain, all the better. If Verizon attempts to charge you, demand that the channels be removed and your account be credited.

If it was a 3 months free from Verizon you are reuired to call to cancel or you have passively agreed to continue the service and will be charged. You must have "signed" an agreement when it was activated which would have included the terms and conditions including the "you must cancel" clause.
This is pretty standard in all of Verizon's freebies, you must cancel after the free period or you agree to be charged.

That's standard industry practice, not just Verizon's policy.

This is what my email said :
"Thank you for being a loyal FiOS® TV customer! As a token of our appreciation, we are now including HBO® in your FiOS® TV programming package until the end of May. There is no additional cost to you and no action is required.
Simply tune to channel 899 HD (400 SD) to start watching the best Hollywood movies and award-winning original programming. We will automatically remove it for you after May 31, 2013."

I would say don't do anything and let it go. Maybe you lucked out and they "forgot" to switch off the service. More than likely it will catch up and turn off eventually, so enjoy the free time while you have it. If you get your next bill and see a charge, call and ask for it to be credited to your account.
