GO Lakers! (almost missed the game, thanks to a Verizon screw-up)

I just saw the end of the Denver Nuggets vs. LA Lakers playoff game 7 on Fox Sports West (channel 76 in my area) .

I only caught the last 8 minutes - and almost missed the game entirely, because the Verizon Fios channel guide incorrectly listed UFC Unleashed on that channel at that time.

I am so fed up with Verizon Fios. This is par for the course...

I won't even get into the snafu's I've endured from Verizon's "crack" billing department...

I wish I'd never switched over from Time Warner.

Agree with you. I almost missed the game had i not gone online to find where it was. It was on tnt but on my guide a movie called con air with nicolas cage was listed there the entire time. That too is par for the course as even verizon seems to have no clue as to what is going on with their own guide. I posted those comments on the channels not matching topic on here where i also gave a whole bunch of other examples of what is wrong with their guide. The game was a good one but if you have fios chances are that you probably had no idea it was on. I said that the lakers were playing the grizzlies when in fact they were playing the nuggets. The L A Clippers are actually playing the grizzlies on sunday in a game 7 elimination game that was just like the laker game although when you take a look at the guide that game is also missing from the fios guide too. Verizon fios guide is a joke.

Almost a year has passed since this thread was created and verizon's guide provider is still clueless about the nba playoff games and when they are going to be on. Now i will not go into how many playoff games have been missed this year because they are not on the guide (more than last year) but what i will say is that the game 7 lakers game last year is not the only game 7 that has been missed and will be missed. Tomorrow night on saturday may 4, 2013 at 8pm there is a very important nba playoff game between the brooklyn nets and the chicago bulls where it is nowhere to be found on the guide. It is a game 7 elimination game and whoever wins continues on to the next round and whoever loses their season is over. Now having done a little research as to where it should be i found that it will be on both the yes network and on tnt but the game is not listed there. Instead a yankees game is listed there on yes and on tnt there is a marathon of a program called "castle" when in fact it will be the game 7 playoff game. As i said when the game 7 match was on tnt last year where the lakers were playing in that game what was really listed on the guide the entire time was a nicolas cage movie called "con air." This problem is not going away verizon and until this profound guide data problem is fixed there will never be an expansion beyond the current customer base when in fact that number will decline if this issue continues to go on without it being addressed. If you need confirmation of what the guide data should look like then zap 2 it has the right schedule with the game 7 playoff game listed there on yes and on tnt while verizon's own website has the wrong programs listed there. Fix the issue now verizon before technical support ends up getting a lot of angry calls from people wondering where the game is. The excuse of the information being provided 2 weeks in advance so there is no way that this can be anticipated is not valid since the nba playoff schedules are provided well in advance so that your guide provider (who always has bad info on the guide) can put them up. If a guide provider can not even get a game 7 playoff game right then what is the point of keeping that company? It would be like watching a show all season long but when the final episode is set to appear it is nowhere to be found on the guide so you miss out on it. Tomorrow night's game will be that final episode of the season for one of those teams and  people will be missing out on it because of your inaccurate guide data provider. Verizon is also going to lose big time too. The ratings for game 7 matches are often very high but verizon will miss out on those big ratings and viewers all because the game is not listed there.
