I'm not switching. Fios is much better than any alternative. I blame Fox25 entirely for this (which is now owned by Cox, a competitor to Verizon Fios in some areas). They withdrew their service (although they would like us to believe that Verizon "dropped" them). If Verizon caved to every content owner the monthly price for Fios would go way up. Local channels like Fox25 got FREE radio spectrum from the governement to broadcast over the air so we taxpayers are already subsidizing them. Their comparison to ESPN is not valid because ESPN does not have this RF spectrum benefit. As subscribers, it's in our interest to keep the costs down so I will spend $30 on an antenna at BestBuy and Verizon should tell Fox25 to pound sand.

FINALLY! Someone here who actually knows what they are talking about. FIOS already had to pay an arm-and-a-leg for one Fox's sports channel that the sports fanatics were crying for. I've never even heard of Fox25 (I lump most of those channels with the Hispanic channels as items I don't need to even see taking up space on my listings). But we still have Fox (for GOTHAM alone. FX, FXX, Fox Movies, etc. Losing one of dozens of sport channels doesn't bother me.. I mean honestly, if it's gone, there are still plenty of channels to satisfy ANYONE'S sports fix. I mean, I love movies...but FIOS isn't carrying TCM-HD. And while I'd like to have it, there is certainly no dearth of similar programming on the other channels.
Look, Fox is a sleazy, unethical company (similar to their pseudo-news channel) and they try to rip-off every carrier they deal with. If they were playing "hard-case" with FIOS over this channel (that most subscribers don't even know exists!), then FIOS is right to tell them "buh-bye."
I understand that fans of this channel are upset. WHich is why I wish Verizon would just take ALL the sports channels and offer them as a package to those who want it. Then, when these issues arise, the fans who are writing here begging FIOS to keep it can pay the extra charges for it...and the rest of us wouldn't have to.`

Film11 -- I I think you're under the assumption that Fox 25 is a sports channel. It is not. Fox 25 is THE Boston affiliate for most Fox network programming, from NFL football to the many dramas and comedies that people enjoy -- Gotham, New Girl, SImpsons, etc. Not to mention the local news programming. Surely you have heard of Fox 25 if you watch Gotham. It's not some channel that "most subscribers don't even know exists."

I think FOX 25 just came back on?
Yes they reached an agreement. Hopefully they didn't pay the amount that FOX 25 wanted, or we will see a round of price increases asked by other locals in the country, which ALWAYS end up coming back to us in the form of price increases.

Hello,
Wanted to let you know that Verizon and Cox Media Group have reached an agreement and Cox has restored WFXT-TV Fox 25 programming to the FiOS TV lineup. We appreciate our customers’ patience and loyalty throughout the negotiation process. The agreement Verizon has reached contains terms that are in the best interests of Verizon and our customers.
Thanks for your patience.

Um, it's not loyalty that is keeping me a Verizon customer, it's that Comcast is backed up on installations. I'm outta here on Saturday. Never should have left Comcast. Never should have switched.

I am in total agreement. Give the customers the opportunity to have a say in any increased cost or give us some time of compensation or adjustment to our monthly bill for the loss of this channel.
