I saw on a couple of threads that a Verizon representative (Heather) indicated on July 21, 2010 that MASN2 HD would be "coming soon" to Baltimore and other areas outside of the DC footprint.
I have not seen any updates from a Verizon representative since July , 2010.
Comcast offers MASN1 and MASN2 in HD.
I believe that we have waited long enough.
I was happy when Verizon FIOS became available in my area because I thought that Comcast was lazy and unresponsive to their customers. I thought the competition would improve the quality of products and services available. I think that Verizon got many new customers for this reason. However, the pendulum is swinging back the other way. Verizon is going to lose customers back to Comcast.
It is a shame. I like most things about Verizon FIOS.
I think most people would be satisfied with an update...some information. Answers to the questions below.
What is the hold up on making MASN2 HD available in the Baltimore area?
When will it be available, other than "soon" (which clearly does not mean the same thing to Verizon that it does to their customers)?

I think Heather said "it is coming", which is always Verizon's way of not giving any sort of timeline whatsoever. Rumor has it that MASN2 HD will be added to the areas without FiOS1 HD by the start of the season. This may have been a contractual thing that Verizon make the channel available to x% of subscribers during the 2010 season, and the rest by the start of the 2011 season.
Verizon does take forever to add any new channels, but by the time it's added, you know they've tested it to death where there won't be any problems. They also won't share any information with customers about when a channels will be added because they say the competition will use it to their advantage, so don't expect anything until the channel appears on your guide.

Thanks for the information. I guess I will wait it out until the baseball season begins to see if Verizon adds MASN2 HD.
