As I told you months ago - it will be at least August / Sept until this is added.

I don't know why you all seem so surprised that you keep getting the same answers from VZ.

Does anyone think Verizon cares whether or not it FIOS customers get MASN2HD?

I don't, they already have our money.

Verizon, why won't you give us an answer. People who are thinking about getting FIOS read these boards before deciding. If I had known you weren't going to carry local sports teams in HD, I wouldn't have even thought about FIOS.

My 1 year contract is up soon, and I will be calling my cable company then.

By the way, can someone explain to me how something relatively new like FIOS can run out of bandwidth. FIOS was created when HD was growing. FIOS should have planned for there two be 500 HD channels. Right?

This is a peer-to-peer support forum, and while some Verizon staff may drop in to answer technical questions, they would be unable to address your particular concern. You need to contact Verizon directly.

It's almost halfway though the season, and there's still no MASN2 HD. I went to a bar tonight that had Comcast, and there were Verizon ads in HD on MASN2 HD. Interesting that Verizon customers could not see them in HD, but everyone else could.

It really is sad.  You have to go to a bar to see MASN2 in HD, while I have to go next door to my neighbor's house (Cox customer).  Incredible.

This isn't rocket science, and should be easy to remedy, given that Vz has recently dropped some HD channels, thus freeing up bandwidth for MASN2.  The fact that Vz hasn't moved on this tells me (and should tell all of us DC sports fans) that Verizon just doesn't care about us.  They've seen our emails, heard our phone calls, read these boards, and even seen themselves mentioned in a negative light in Steinberg's blog on washingtonpost.com.  The fact that they've done nothing speaks volumes about the contempt in which they hold us.

While I probably wouldn't use "contempt", it does seem like the people at Verizon just figured we wouldn't notice we didn't have MASN2 HD when everyone else did. They run ads in HD and sponsor the post game shows for both teams in order to try and sway people to FiOS. That's fine, but if someone falls for it and switches, they get no MASN2 HD, and when they ask why, they're faced with customer service people who have no clue. If a customer can manage to find a member of management, they simply won't give any information to the customer.

While I do credit Joe (@fiostv) on Twitter for responding to our questions, he has been saying "soon" and "on the way" for three months now. It's been almost four weeks since the big news of "weeks, not days". Okay, it's been weeks, four HD channels have been removed, and there's still no MASN2 HD.Smiley Mad

Tonight I went to Halligan Bar in Richmond (shameless plug) and watched the game on MASN2 HD. They have Comcast there, and while Comcast does have MASN2 HD, I did see pixellation a couple times during the game. Not really that bad, but noticeable. I don't ever recall seeing that at home with FiOS. While the quality of the game was good otherwise, the bartender was telling me about his problems with Comcast at home. He said that certain channels wouldn't work on certain days, and that he's had to get them out to tighten the connection at the pole about once a month to fix it. It got me thinking about how well Verizon's system works, and that it will never be all spliced up like copper since it's split only at designated points. While it has been a pain to wait for new channels, it will be worth it in the end when we finally get these channels and don't have to deal with stuff like this.

I also recently upraded to Ultimate HD, and they even got my bill right. Props to Verizon. I'm just looking forward to all these new HD channels that have been promised. Hopefully we'll see something after the YES 3D experiment this weekend.

No MASN2 HD?????

Investigation Discovery HD has launched on channel 623, at least in VHO9. I guess customers have been clamoring for this HD channel somewhere, but I haven't figured out where.

Yeah, odd choice - take away four HD channels, and then add only one - and then it's one I don't even think I've seen anyone ask for. I can only guess this must be some contractual issue with Discovery (who are they run by, CBS?)
