VHO4 is the video head-end office for the Baltimore-Washington area.  What confuses me is why some areas in VHO4 could technically receive MASN2-HD and some (Baltimore area) could not.

I do not understand the role of the local Central Offices.  It just seems that Verizon has invested in an awesome fiber to the home network but they are handcuffed with substandard, obsolete cable technology with in-home STBs and their VHO or Central Office equipment.  I do not really fully understand.

Wow...this thread is well over a year old now, and lots of us are still waiting for MASN2 HD. A year ago, I never, ever would have thought we would still be waiting at this point. Verizon teased us all season long, showing the HD games to only part of the MASN footprint, then telling the rest of us the channel "is coming".

Is this the year for the rest of us?

It is now less than 1 week from the first Orioles game on MASN2 (Sunday, April 3).  Verizon appears to have blown it again.  Unless something changes, only FiOS customers in the D.C. area will be able to watch the game in HD.  Those of us in the BALTIMORE area will have to watch the BALTIMORE Orioles in standard definition.

If this happens, I plan to go back to DirecTV on Monday.  They've had more than enough time to get their act together at Verizon.

I've heard from more than one very reliable source that MASN2 HD will be here for the rest of us on Monday 4/4. I hope it appears this week, but at the most, we should only miss the HD version of one Orioles game.

Make sure to post here when you finally see the channel.

I heard today that everyone should get MASN2 HD by Monday except for Delaware VHO8. It sounds like this channel has a low priority in Delaware just like the Comcast Network HD. No one seems to know why, and as we all know, no one from Verizon is saying anything.Smiley Sad

For today's MASN2 HD game on 501, Verizon is just taking the SD feed and stretching it, and it looks terrible.

I can't understand why they are doing this.  Last year's MASN2 HD games on 501 were in true HD.

Really sad that the SD game on channel 1 looks better than the so-called HD version on 501.

Sounds like yet another casualty of FiOS1 HD. This channel showed last year's MASN2 HD games, but every CSN+ game over the winter was shown with FiOS1 bars on the sides, and now this. Make sure you post Wednesday and let us know how the game looks. Speaking of Wednesday, CSN+ and MASN2 both have live games scheduled, so the DC area will only see one of them. Fortunately for the other areas, we get CSN+ HD on channel 575 and we're supposed to get a dedicated MASN2 HD feed Monday on channel 501, so we won't have to deal with the FiOS1 nonsense.

For those in Baltimore, Richmond, Hampton Roads, and Harrisburg, please post here when you see MASN2 HD on channel 501.

I live in the Glen Burnie area in AA county. Still no MASN 2 HD. I just now created an account but I have been reading this thread for the past year. I'm extremely frustrated... I watch as many O's games as I can and it really angers me that I can't see all of the games I'm able to watch in HD. It needs to be added soon! It's been way too long that some areas in the foot print have added it but we haven't. All of that complaining that DC area tv's don't get MASN2 HD and the O's games are mostly in HD. Well who's getting the preferential treatment now? The O's have Buck running this team nicely and I'm tired of MASN 2 in SD. Give us MASN2 HD!

You should have MASN2 HD on channel 501. Until tomorrow's game, it's just showing ESPNEWS. You can't see it in the program guide yet, but they are supposedly working on this. Until the guide is fixed, just tune to channel 501. Yes, the O's games will be in HD this week!
