Why is the NJ Devil's hockey game not on MSG+2 right now?

I have the same question. I'm getting the MSG feed on MSG+2, so I'm seeing the Rangers and not the Devils. Called technical support and they didn't know what the problem was, but mentioned they're getting multiple calls about it. This is a major screwup by FIOS.

After an hour of trying to get an answer by phone or online, I found it with the awkward FIOS search menu. it is on a non-HD channel, channel 81. It would have been nice for FIOS to put  a message on-screen saying where to find the game. Shame on you FIOS.

It seems like most other providers use one channel for overflow games, but Verizon does not carry "part time" channels that they would need to switch feeds. Since MSG2 HD was added over a year ago, there's still no sign of MSG+2 HD on channel 581. I guess it's coming, but don't expect Verizon to give any details until it actually shows up.

Still nothing for NYC? The Devils have two games on MSG+2 next week.

Tonight Devils feed of the NYR-NJ game is only available in SD on channel 81. Outside of the NY region, the Devils HD feed is on GAMEHD 6, channel 1471.

Thursday's NJ-CAR game is on channel 81 only in SD, but outside of NY is on NHL Network in HD.

If anyone is looking for the Islanders in HD tonight, I just heard that the game is also being shown on WLNY. Maybe the Plus2 HD channel will finally be added after 20 HD channels are switched over to MPEG-4 this month.

Hey Caps09, any idea what the 20 channels in HD are that are supposed to be added?

Thanks!

At this point, they're just moving 20 channes to MPEG-4, which will take up 50% of the space they currently occupy. This opens up room in theory for 20 channels in the MPEG-4 format, but there won't be that many because some of them will be in MPEG-2. Channels added to Prime HD (at the very least) will be MPEG-2 simply because there are still a lot of converters out there that cannot decode MPEG-4. This means that whenever TV Guide Network HD and MSG+2 HD are added in NY and NJ, they will be in the old MPEG-2 format. BeIN Sport HD will be MPEG-4 because it's in the Ultimate HD package. I don't have any idea of when any of this will happen, other than BeIN which has been announced to be available by the middle of April. As for any other channels, Verizon has done very well keeping that super secret.
