If this has been brought up before then i apologize in advance but if it has not been then i hope that you can do something about this. You currently have a channel called canal sur channel 1549 on your guide which provides people with the best of south american news from countries like venezuela, argentina, and peru but there is a channel called canal sur peru which is available to be had that i think is costing you a lot of potential customers in new jersey, new york and a lot of other areas throughout the country where it could be had. The main competitor for verizon for the triple play is comcast in new jersey and in many parts of the country where they have both canal sur along with canal sur peru available which is to their advantage and to your disadvantage so if you were to add sur peru you would add a lot of new customers i can guarantee you that based on my interaction with a lot of people who have voiced these concerns to me when i tell them about how much i like fios. You already have a relationship with canal sur and i have spoken to canal sur where they have confirmed to me that comcast has been adding more customers because of this as they have also said that if verizon wanted to add the channel they would simpy have to contact canal sur who they already have a relationship with. If you could add this channel then it would be a big step foward for you to adding more customers and it would no longer make comcast an option for many people since you would have this channel. Some other channels that would be to your benefit that you could add are ecuavisa, htv musica, al jazeera in english for middle east news and since you already have a relationship with epix i would like to suggest epix 2 along with a third epix channel called the 3 from epix. There is also a movie channel called movieplex which is the owner of retroplex and indieplex which you have on your guide but metroplex is not there for anyone to see. These channels will help you increase the amount of customers that you have based on the feedback that i have been able to get from people who could be potential customers if some of these channels were to be added to your lineup so i hope that you can do something about these suggestions especially the one about canal sur peru and add these channels that would not only benefit the customers but verizon too.

Vote here or here. I have only been asking for this since the forums started in 2008. And possibly over at DSL Reports. Before votes were possible. Yes I have been around a while. But have been forced into another two year contract with Direct TV at the minimum package level, So my Peruvian born wife can see her programming. I like My Fios but my contact expires in April 2012, so I will be forced to cut back even more to cover the cost of what Verizon does not have. That is when my 1 year discount expires, and the DTV other 179 channels I don't want go full price from $29 to $49.. I would have even paid as much as $20 or more a month to Verizon, instead of the $11.99 or what ever they charge now for the spanish line up.

See here the search. Not much interest, and when the DTV exclusive contract expired, I even provided all the contact information to Verizon and the US provider. NOTHING. I am sure that DTV renewed ther exclusive contract. But I didn't think that was legal. I believe some cable companies now carry SurPeru. Don't hold your breath. There are even local C-Band channels from Lima that Verizon could get that no one else has. Still nothing. I guess those local C-Band Satellite channels may not be digital so nothing. More and more from other countries, and Peru again gets left out!

This comment is for prisaz who responded to my comments about new channel suggestions that included canal sur peru. I am mm1 and i want you to know along with all of the other people who are reading this that i have been in direct contact on behalf of all of my fellow verizon customers who have fios for their television with many of the channels that verizon carries where the data does not match what should be on the guide. I have been contacting the programming departments of many of the channels on the guide via phone and internet because the people at verizon have not been making the necessary changes to the guide to get the updated information from the providers. Even the guide provider that is responsible for the verizon guide has not really been able to help me so i have been contacting these companies for three years now and getting them all to send their updated schedules to verizon via email. Up until this point no one but the channels along with a couple of other people knew this but now to those of you who are reading this you now know that i am basically doing the job of the guide provider and some other people who should be doing this while getting no credit for doing the job for them. I am only a customer but i have been able to get them to alter a lot of what was incorrect on the guide as far as the ultimate hd programming is concerned. That is almost every channel except international ones but i am also working on that too even though i do not want to be contacting foreign countries whose program schedules are out of date on their own websites. As for canal sur peru which is strictly all about peruvian news i have been in touch with their people and i just got them to alter their canal sur lineup so that it is finally correct. Now companies like verizon, comcast, dish network and cablevision along with whoever else has canal sur as part of their package have the correct schedules. Even tv guide, zap 2 it , titan tv which usually have the fios guide accurately on their websites now have that correct lineup. Canal sur peru from what i have been told is a very real possibility but i can not give you a timetable on it but the other channels i mentioned in my previous post are a long shot from the conversations i have had with people at those companies. Comcast does have canal sur and canal sur peru if you check out their channel lineup online. If you were to check out your guide you will see that many things that appear on it do not match but i will continue to get things corrected even if no one will help me with what i am doing so long as i still have a contract with verizon. I am being charged a lot for the ultimate hd package plus the spanish language package along with several dvrs so at the very least i want what is on my guide to match what i am seeing on my tv if i am going to be charged as much as i am being charged while i am also going out of my way to get everything on the guide to match. Now that i have told you all this my post will probably be pulled for telling you all this but at least you now know this.

Thank for your efforts. We all know about the guide data issues. CanalSur and SurPeru are not the same, and many Peruvians have stayed away from FiOS for that reason. I know 10 families myself. Would be nice to have both. SurPeru does have much news about Peru, but also has prime time programming. Again thanks for your efforts, and you should not need to do what you are doing. But if you have tons of spare time, I am sure everyone appreciates you pointing out all the errors that rarely occur as has been said. Everyone knows it has been better, perhaps thanks to you and Verizon?

Best Regards
