NHL Center Ice no longer available?

After several hours in voice mail hell and on hold with multiple "customer service" agents, I was just told that NHL Center Ice is no longer available to me.  HUH?!?!?  I just renewed my FiOS package in August for 2 years, having just had a very satisfactory first year, including the NHL Center Ice package.  Now, as of last week, it's gone!  It took over 4 hours on the phone for someone to tell me that it's not available in my area.  Again - HUH?!?!?  I was watching it through Sunday, October 24, then I went out of town for a couple of days.  When I came back, the game I scheduled to record did not.  That's when the frustration started.

Has anyone else experienced this????  The Sports inDemand website said it's available, but I not longer see it available through the verizon website.  I'm really **bleep** that I renewed now through August 2012.  I'm ready to go back to DirecTV.

Have the channels disappeared? They're still there for me, and offering a subscription if I press OK. There's nowhere that Verizon can't offer Center Ice, it's not like Goal Zone where they can't offer it in a couple markets.

Channels still there, and appear to able to be subscribed to.  But it won't work.  Was told that Center Ice is no longer available in my town.  Bizzarre.

Verizon Fios and NHL Center Ice are incompatible...Verizon clearly does not want to offer the service so makes the offering as bad as possible or technically impossible to access so that no one will sign up. In my case, no channels are even available in Mercer county even though the same Fios channels were available all summer for every channel of the MLB network.

I complained about this topic last season, got incomplete answers and run-around until finally instructed that technical difficulties made it impossible to offer.

I went to NHL GameCenter Live and watch the games on my computer now. Same price, can use it anywhere I can get wireless. No HD but at least I can watch my team.

I've experienced this same problem in NJ. I was told by a supervisor that the package is blacked out in my area due to a technical difficulty. He then went on to say it is not actually a technical difficulty but more of a contract negotiation/dispute. I found some articles about cablevision in legal battles with Fios over MSG HD feeds but I'm not sure if these are related. What I don't understand is why we can't PAY for a service that provides games of teams across North America if it is a black out. A black out is usually a local dispute between two separate channels as to which gets to broadcast the game (ie. comcast sportsnet and fox/nbc affiliate in my area). However, this appears to be deciding that just our area is not available for NHL Center ICE through fios. It is also not a problem with NHL Center ICE as comcast does offer it in our area which indicates the problem is solely with Fios.

I am actually looking to switch back to Comcast just so I can get NHL Center ICE again but it will come with a cost as Comcast service just costs more.
