Nope not dead.  But ESPN found the cost too high versus their profits for the limited number of people who were viewing.  Didn't help that not many cable provider carried it and those did charged extra or included it in their top tiers.

Ok so if 3D is not dead then long live 8 track tapes... I know an old truck driver who still has an 8-track and pile of tapes in his current truck.  He keeps them for the cases when XM radio goes out through tunnels etc....
