Even in the Ultimate HD package, CBS College Sports Channel is just a Standard Definition channel. How stupid. They used to have a Sports Package for about $8 a month that included CBS College Sports, some regional Fox Sports Channels and The Golf Channel. They have since scrapped that and created the Extreme HD package which was to include the sports tier of programming. But for some odd reason or technicality, they didn't include CBS College Sports. Or maybe they just overlooked. Who knows why? The Atlantic10 conference touts a National TV package of basketball games on the CBS College Sports Network, yet it really isn't national if it's a premium channel on Fios and in Standard Definition.

I notice that a NYC local sports radio station (WFAN - owned by CBS) now has their morning show simulcast on CBS Sports. Seems like if I'm already paying a regional sports fee (NYC area) on my monthly bill that CBS Sports should be included. If NBC Sports is part of my Extreme package, it makes sense for CBS Sports to be rolled in, also..

I thought(!) that the recent (maybe a couple of months ago?) deal between Verizon & CBS included expanded carriage for CBSSN, but, if so, that clearly hasn't happened yet.
Does anyone have any insight into this, please?

My insight is I bet Verizon is hesitant adding CBS Sport since it costs them big bucks because of the number of subscribers. Regardless for those paying extra for the sports pack or Ultimate they should be very upset a sports channel carrying live events is only in SD.
