No TV Caller ID

Message 1 of 11

Greetings All,

I had the FIOS service installed on Friday August 5,11.  I am very pleased and should have dumped COX a long time ago.  Question,  how do I receive the caller ID on the TV Screen?  Each time I click on the option, it tells me to check back 24 to 48 hours later.  The TV displays my phone number, but no caller ID or call logs.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

A service has to be activated which can take 24hrs on typical days.  Not sure if we are in typical days now (because of the strike) or not.

I also have no caller ID displayed. It worked before, but not now on any of my TVs. I finally got through to a guy at Verizon, but he didn't fix the problem.

I too had the same problem-after about 2-4 days the phone number and caller did appear. As far as a call log I suggested that it be added to the caller ID menu-Verizon says it is taking this request under consideration-we need more people to request this feature-this can be added to the caller id menu under call logs and should list caller ,time date and the option to deleate or save info

normh: If the caller ID doesn't reappear after a few days, as news4catman suggested it might, then you can use the Verizon Troubleshooter report and try to fix issues with your Verizon phone, as well as to schedule a repair if needed. You can access the Troubleshooter here:  http://www.verizon.com/repair. You can also find other tools on our Residential Support page that may help you diagnose your issue: http://www22.verizon.com/residentialhelp/.

news4catman: For your suggestion of adding a call log to the caller ID menu, if you haven't already, please post it in our Verizon Idea Exchange, found at http://verizon.com/ideas. That is the place where we are looking to gather customer ideas as well as where other customers can vote for them. Thanks!

The caller ID worked for a time and now it does not appear on the TV screen.  I went to options on the remove and made sure is was activated but still does not appear. any suggestions?

Standard practice if it starts to fail is to make sure the STB re register.  First just try rebooting your router and then your STB's.  If that doesn't work try de registering your STB from caller id, the reboot router and stb.  Then reregister you boxes for caller id.

Normally the first will be enough.  Almost always the second will be enough.  If it doesn't work you may have to actually use one of the ways to "Contact us".  i.e talk to Verizon.

After none of these things worked for me, I finally tried the live chat with tech support. The guy ran some tests and fixed it right away. Excellent job on the part of the fiber solution team!

After you click on the links in question a new window will open. in the browser window that opens, where the address is, just delete the word "blocked" and the two colons before the word "blocked"--so that the address starts just as "http"--then hit Enter on the keyboard. WOrked for me!
