PLEASE KEEP WTKR (CBS) IN HAMPTON ROADS

I have no idea why Verizon would ever want to allow a major network channel (CBS) (local to the Hampton Roads area) like WTKR be removed from programming.  With all the growth and expansion of FIOS subscribers in our area I can't believe a money-deal could not be struck.  PLEASE DO NOT LET THE NEW YEAR COME TO HAMPTON ROADS WITHOUT CBS ON OUR LOCAL CHANNELS.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us. We’re currently in negotiations with WTKR so that you don't

have to pay more than what is fair. www.verizon.com/content

I agree with the stance that Verizon is taking on this issue. I believe that these channels, which are free outside of the Verizon network or other cable providers, should not be looking for increases that would cause the cable companies to increase prices. Bottom line, Verizon has many subscribers and the loss of these viewers would create a problem for the networks. They (the networks) should look for the bulk of their revenue from advertisement. Therefore, channel lineup should not be affected.

WTKR today, who knows what tomorrow. I didn’t subscribe to fios to have a local channel as an alternative. What’s next fios? WTKR is the local news channel that i watch. YOU ARE NOT THE ONLY GAME IN TOWN

We're getting the same messages here in Richmond on WTVR. Don't worry though, they will find a way to get a deal done. Verizon might pay their fee increase, but they'll probably get something back like ads on the stations thet they would have paid a lot for otherwise. These "emergencies" kill me though. The station acts like their programming is so valuable that no one can do without it for even a day. All this while we can get the channel over the air if need be.

If I have to go to an outside antenna to keep WTKR I will be getting one third of my most watched channels of the air.  I might as well go ahead and get the other 2/3rd of the air also.  I am tired of Verizon canceling things I signed up for and adding things I am not interested in and continuing to charge increased rates>

Just wondering, if in fact we should lose WTKR, would there be a substitute network that brings us CBS programming in the Hampton Roads area or do we actually lose the nationwide CBS coverage because of some local exclusivity coverage by the local network (i.e., WTKR)?????

I will cancel Verizon FIOS if no WTKR (or CBS) affiliate offered

I consider this illogical to cancel one of the 4 major networks from any public media distribuition form. If only for emergency notification reasons, CBS should be included.  I recently joined FIOS, and the fiber seems wonderful, but this would cause me to go back to Cox.

I hear the words "can get the signal for free", but that assumes that you already have an HD antenna ready to plug in. These antennae are not CHEAP! To drop the network with the highest rated shows on TV over a penny or two per customer a day is ridiculous. How many other channels do we pay for the signals, but do not watch? If necessary, I can come up with about 20 channels that I never watch that are included on the basic plan that I would be willing to drop to keep WTKR-CBS on the cable.
