Yes. press the "DVR" button on your remote. Scroll down to "Recent Deletes" and press "OK". You will see a list of deleted recordings. Select the program you want to get back and then select "Restore" and press "OK"

Your information was on point. It is important to note that this action must be taken using the DVR set-box. This feature is not availible from the standard set-box.
Thanks to both of you.

Previously I was able to do that, but this time when I went to Recent Deletes it did not show the one that was deleted. On All Activity it does show the one that was deleted with a note saying this program was deleted to make room for another recording. Options are Delete and Remove All. So I guess I missed that one! Any other suggestions?

If it said it was deleted to make room for another recording, then your DVR must be quite full. If you can delete some of the less wanted items, maybe it won't happen again.

Hi sterling801,
To clarify, the reason that a program that you did not delete yourself would not be in your Recent Deletes folder is because it was already overwritten by another recording and is therefore unrecoverable. The All Activity folder (formerly known as History) is nothing more than a list of events that have taken place, not a list of things you can do. "Program was deleted to make room for another recording." This is explaining why your program was erased. To keep programs from being erased to make room for other recordings, you must select the "Save until I delete" option for that recording. You'll know it's protected because a shield symbol will appear beside it. But be aware that if you have too many things recorded and protected, instead of erasing your recordings, your DVR will run out of room and fail to record any new programs.

You will have to forgive me for not seeing that possibility. I'm afraid that this calls for a much more drastic course of action. The solution for this problem is to let your husband know that if he doesn't keep his hands off your recordings, you will have to start randomly unprotecting his until he understands what it feels like. Estimated time till your problem is solved: 0 seconds flat.
Oh wait, wait a minute. Are you referring to that episode of Nashville you're missing? Now I understand. I'm totally on your husband's side.
But seriously, if that is the episode you are referring to, you can get most of those on hulu or abc.com.
