Verizon just Tweeted that the SEC Network is coming soon. Stay tuned for details.  That was all they said. So we should hear more later today or tomorrow.

Not seeing anything related to the SEC Network on Verizon's twitter page.

Edit...nevermind.  Was looking at Verizon's twitter feed.  It's on the FiOS twitter feed.

Here's the SEC Networks/ESPN official announcement. It will be on channels 575 and 75 in Florida and Texas. Channel 75 only everywhere else. You have to have Extreme or Ultimate packages to get it on the other markets other than Florida or Texas.

I would like to get it on HD but I am not that picky. I'm just glad to get the games period. It will also be available on ESPN Watch app too.

This is funny.  They FINALLY release details of an agreemement after stringing out their subscribers forever, and it's the most complicated setup of all the providers carrying the SEC Network.  Sheesh.  All the other carriers just provided the network.  Period.  VZW has different packages and different boradcast quality (HD vs SD) based on your geography.  Why?

I suppose the easy solution is to upgrade to the Extreme package when I want to see the SEC Network, then downgrade back to the Preferred.

I agree. Why just Texas and Florida? I get the Big 10 in HD, why not the SEC? I even get Time Warner Sports and Fishing Network in HD...but not SEC?.I notice on my guide that ESPNU is re-broadcasting the A&M/SCarolina and Auburn/Arkansas in the wee hours...in HD I can get reruns in HD but can only watch it live in SD? Okay, so I can (hopefully) see it live in HD on my computer.via WatchESPN but...really? Really?

I sure hope that this just an initiall launch scenario and/or ESPN will simulcast SEC Network games on their various channels (like last year). If this is "it"...i.e. take it or leave it, then I will just have to take my business elsewhere. In this day and age, creating this kind of  viewing mish mash is not just silly, it's obnoxious.

Here is more detailed information about who will get what and where. It's true that only TX and FL will see HD. TX an FL will also see it in all tiers that have sports whereas other markets will need to have either Extreme or Ultimate to get it.
