@JMG32 wrote:I suppose the easy solution is to upgrade to the Extreme package when I want to see the SEC Network, then downgrade back to the Preferred.
It might be on the Ultimate package though. What Verizon is doing is telling Customers within the SEC footprint that customers outside the footprint will foot the bill for their SEC coverage. We'll treat those within the footprint like royalty by giving them HD and we'll throw a bone to those customers outside the footprint with prehistoric SD and a 1000% markup to boot. I'm not sure why Verizon needs to treat it's customers like they have stupid written all over their forehead.

It will be in Extreme and Ultimate outside of TX and FL. http://newscenter.verizon.com/residential/news-articles/2014/08-22-sec-network-added-to-fios-tv-line...

Yet, the big 10 network is available to everyone for the same base price. It's kinda confusing to mention both Extreme and Ultimate will carry the SECN. Anything on Extreme is automatically carried on Ultimate.

Yeah, I'm not on Extreme or Ultimate. Just Preferred. Obviously not very preferred.
At the moment, the only reason I really care about it is to see the SC/A&M game on Thursday. I can upgrade to Extreme, pay the prorated fee, use WatchESPN to cast it on my tv in HD, then downgrade back to the Preferred package after the game. Sort of like pay-per-view I guess. But it'll have to do for now.
After that all the major games will be on regular stations.

It is now Tuesday 8/26 at 1PM Pacific time and with no official announcement from Verizon they have lost another customer to Dish. Dish will be installed tomorrow and then I pull the plug on Verizon. Thanks for keeping your customers informed. I will now be able to watch SEC games but also PAC 12 games plus saving $45 over Verizon. LATER!

Haven't you seen the most recent FiOS commercials? Because customers are at the center of everything they do. Duh.
Comcast got some bad press for that horrible call to customer service a while back, but at least that was just one customer getting a hard time. Verizon is {word filter avoidance} all over their entire customer base.

That's a nice Idea but I'm not sure Verizon will allow you to switch to Extreme for three hours every Saturday and then switch back to preferred.

What is Verizon's reasoning behind NOT offering the network in HD in all markets??
Verizonn doesn't comment on ongoing negotiations. Verizon Fios 101!
