VOOM no longer exists, so it can't be added. Universal Sports is limited to NBC affiliates and their local digital subchannels. You have to ask your affiliate for it.
FIOS ought to have HD versions of Cartoon Network, BBC America, G4, E!, MSNBC, CBS College Sports, and Crime and Investigation HD

I cancelled Directv because they dropped the VS channel and since I am a huge Washington Capitals fan I could not accept that. I now find myself in another dilemma. My FIOS while it does have Comcast Sportsnet it does not have CSN+ DC. This is their alternate channel. There is now going to be 12 games that I will miss because this is not offered. The only team that I follow is Washington so NHL Center Ice is too expensive for the 12 games that are not on my local channel.
Please consider CSN+ DC and if not maybe an extreme discount on center ice for those games or a chance to order each game as a PPV.

Those Caps games would be blacked out on Center Ice since we are in the Caps region. The only place for us to get the games is CSN and CSN+. It is up to Verizon to add the channel.

Here in the Boston area (as well as other areas), Comcast is upgrading their service where they're adding a whole bunch of new HD channels, totaling just slightly over 100. We have most of those channels already, but here are the channels that Comcast is including that Verizon currently does not have:
Cartoon Network HD
CBS College Sports HD
E! HD
G4 HD
Style HD
TVOne HD
WBPX HD (Local Ion affiliate; I know that in other markets in this country Ion IS carried in HD, but not here in Boston as of yet. But it still belongs on this list, since I'm sure it's like that in other areas as well
WMUR HD (New Hampshire ABC affiliate; Comcast only offers this channel in areas near/in New Hampshire, but they do offer the HD feed of that channel in those areas, while Verizon does not.)
Does anyone here know if Verizon is planning to add any of these?

I live in the Mojave Desert in CA, I am getting FIOS TV tommorow. With Dish Network I get East Coast feeds since I can not receive anything over the air, I am trying to find out if I can get this service with FIOS. I have asked five people by phone and can'[t seem to get a real answer. One woman said she could get west coast feeds and knew what I was talking about, but don't see any east coast channels on the list for my zip code. Help.

Kathleen,
I have been a long time Directv customer, since 1995. I switched to FIOS yesterday 11-3-2009 to find out the FIOS in Harford County or Baltimore County does not carry CSN+. I am not happy. I see the the guide list 3 CSN channels 76, 576 (HD), and 1525 (which shows the exact samething as ch 76). One of the reasons for switching to FIOS was the VS conflict with Directv. Now I find out that I will miss more Washington Capitals games by having FIOS. Please respond.

If it has not been said enough...Comcast Sportnet Plus. Ridiculous that everyone else has it. Not Howard County, MD though.

Comcast SportsNet-Northwest HD. Your own news release from January 16, 2008 says "Verizon expects to add Comcast SportsNet in high definition later this year." That was nearly 2 years ago!
http://newscenter.verizon.com/press-releases/verizon/2008/verizon-launches-comcast.html
Verizon is now broadcasting the Portland Trailblazers games on channel 77. This is a High Definition 16:9 feed that is being transcoded into standard definition, and squeezed into a 4:3 aspect ratio. So not only are you taking that high definition feed and making the image quality worse, you're screwing up the aspect ratio so everybody looks distorted (too tall and skinny)!
This is just crazy! You have thousands of rabid fans wanting to see the only professional basketball team in a 600 mile radius, and you're making us watch it in standard definition or go to your competitors to see it in HD. You're clearly already getting the high definition feed, you just haven't allocated a channel for it. You promised us this channel a year ago... it's time to make good on that promise!
