It's probably illegal for Verizon to show any Washington broadcast channels in the Harrisburg market. FCC rules on broadcast markets are pretty tight.

Just another plug for BBC America HD, CBS College Sports HD, HLN HD.

Caps09--did you guys ever get MASN2 HD in Richmond?

I would like to see Verizon put back the Sleuth station that they just removed from the Prime selection.  It has been available for the last year and was recently removed.  I would also like to see HMC added.

GOALLINE {word filter avoidance} HD!!! {word filter avoidance}. I turn on my box today and see they are adding Goaline HD a dedicated espn football channel. I dont believe this {word filter avoidance} programming verizon is picking up infront of FSCHD, FSPHD, AND GOLTVHD. Why do we need a channel dedicated to football, a sport that is on Two days a week 16 weeks out of the year. This is complete **bleep**.

Would love to see FSC in HD, along with some of the other frequent mentions.  FiOS seemed to be ahead of the curve with HD channels when we switched over a year ago.  Saldy, other carriers now seem to be passing them by.

MASN2 HD never happened in Richmond, Norfolk, Baltimore, Annapolis, Delaware, and Harrisburg. I guess it was put on the back burner after the DC area was taken care of.

You can have mine. I would much rather have kept Extreme with all the HD still included as before, and a new Ultimate with all the sports added. I have Ultimate for the speeed and a million channels I don't watch. Smiley Sad

In 2007 San Diego had a devastating fire that destroyed hundreds of homes.  In the early stages of the fire I was listening to accounts on the radio.  Being from San Diego, I quickly turned on the television to get information on the fires.  Living In Murrieta, California (Southwest Riverside County) there was no news on the conflagration as the only television stations on cable in our area are out of Los Angeles.  I know the San Diego television stations were covering the fire continuously because a San Diego radio station that I could listen to was carrying the audio feed off and on.

I contacted Verizon to see if there was anyway that they could provide a feed of any San Diego television station to our area.  They said that it was impossible to do.  Not having news coverage available to the fires just south of you, some areas less than 5 miles away, areas that you and your neighbors still consider home was a travesty.  Having friends and families homes going up in flames and nothing more than limited Los Angeles and National coverage just seemed like a peculiar lack of proper usage of our public airwaves. The fire proceeded to be the one of the worst if not the worst fire of all times.

The distance from San Diego to Temecula/Murrieta is 51 miles.  The distance from Los Angeles to Temecula/Murrieta is 84 miles.  Temecula resides on the Riverside County/San Diego County border yet our area is considered part of the Los Angeles market.  By far more people in this area commute to San Diego then Los Angeles and yet the area is considered part of the Los Angeles Market.  I can make no sense of this situation and have even mailed letters and e-mailed Verizon with no responses.

Recently I discovered that there is a San Diego television station, KUSI Channel 51, that has a repeater in Murrieta.  I do not know how long it has been there, but the channel is not on the Verizon cable lineup.  My wish would be that one channel be added to the lineup so that we in Southwest Riverside County (or what I have always called Extreme North San Diego County) have access to San Diego news.  And if it were only the news broadcasts shown, that would be a great service to us transplanted San Diegans.

I hope this request is not ignored like my previous requests.

In order to carry the San Diego channels for those customers within the broadcast area (between LA and SD), Verizon would have to run a fiber connection from the station(s) in San Diego to the VHO, which I would guess is closer to Los Angeles. Chances of Verizon doing this would depend on how many customers there are who could benefit from this, which I'm guessing probably aren't very many. In any case, if you want an acknowledgement for your idea, post it on the Share Your Ideas with Verizon section of this site.

I am really not claiming to be an expert in how stations are brought to the homes.  I would think, though, that it would be similar to how a low power broadcast channel would be added to the cable lineup.  We have KZSW-LP who is carried on Verizon whose signal was from here in Temecula.  I do not understand why something similar could not be done with the K12PO, KUSI's translator here in Murrieta. There are a few radio stations on the same hilltop as their tower, so  their may be some fiber available.  Regardless, thanks for the response.  I will do as you recommended, Caps, and send a message to 'Share Your Ideas.'
