Six months ago I subscribed to the Showtime/Starz Entertainment package described here:
https://www.verizon.com/home/fiostv/web/moviepkg
According to that page, this package is supposed to include the Sundance channel and did until a week ago. This week access to that channel was eliminated without notice or bill credit. I called to complain and was offered another higher-priced package. Is this an error or is VZ trying to alienate customers?

VZ did notify people that Sundance was going to be moved to channel 235.

I believe film11 may be missing the point. Yes Sundance was moved to 235, but no matter what channel it's on, it used to be available to customers subcribing to that movie package and suddenly now it's not. If you go to the link provided by MG57, you'll see that Verizon says that Sundance is included in the package. But if I go to 235, it says it's Sundance and that I'm not a subscriber. I followed the instructions for (press B) rebooting my service if I should be a subscriber, but I still don't get Sundance.

Have you tried using the in home agent to reboot everything or have you tried calling them? They can re-send a signal to you which might fix the issue. If you have a facebook account you can reach out to the customer service on their Verizon Fios page. They are helpful on there.
