"It's called Fox."

The lefties have: ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, MSNBC, CNN and Current (a.k.a. Al Jazeera) TV.

We have FOX...

Please add The Blaze TV, you will still have at least a 7:2 advantage.

HBO/Showtime/Cinemax is awful. I have Showtime & Cinemax because they are included with the Ultimate HD package.

I should drop HBO but my wife still enjoys watching True Blood.

Wow...you think CNN is a "leftie"?????   lol   As for the networks, I can't comment because I rarely watch them (or Al Jazeera/Current either..As I said, I don't bother with baseless propaganda from either side). I can say that when I have seen network news, I sure don't hear any propaganda the likes of which Beck spews.  Unless you consider a water-main breaking or an auto accident or a weather report "leftist propaganda."

By the way, Showtime (and The Movie Channel) is the only premium channel (aside from HDNet Movies) that consistently shows movies the way they were intended to be seen.  (HBO/MAX alters and eliminates picture information...so seeing a movie there is a waste of time). That makes Showtime a rare and valued channel for film buffs...nowhere near as worthless as Blaze.  And again, I don't care if Blaze is carried by Verizon...as long as only those who want it are willing to pay for it.  After all, with all the other  looney shows out there (REAL HOUSEWIVES, HONEY BOO-BOO, etc, etc., etc.), Beck's misinformed craziness is not lacking in company.

Film I could not agree with you more, I have to laugh when the wackos call CNN lefty. And like you I do not care if they add the Blaze or not, as long as those who want it pay for it. Since Beck extorts $9.95 a month for the on-line channel, if people want to pay for it more power to them, as for me, there is NO "news" channel on the planet, left, right, fascist, Communist, Arab, etc. that I would pay that. And I dont need any talking head telling me how to think, as so many of these viewers seem to need.

The Blaze has an exclusivity deal with Dish Network.  But as usual, a Beck fan cannot see or accept the truth.

Are you surprised by that?  Look what they are asking for!  As for the SPAM, there's some Blaze-oriented site out there that published a link leading here, and told their followers to come here and ask for it.  Look at the number of posts listed for most of the people that are asking for this.  That says it all.  Verizon (to their credit) is aware of the website and has asked those requesting this to provide some sort of info that would confirm whether they are actually FIOS customers.  (And no, I'm not saying that ALL requests are from non-subscribers...but a good many of them may not be.)

It's the Blaze (i.e. Beck) themselves running the SPAM campaign trying to increase their viewership. And you're right Verizon is asking people register so only those who are actually Verizon customers influence whether it is added or not. Here is a link from the horses mouth:

Nobody is watching CNN:

Thursday March 28, 2013

"Wednesday night, in the key 25-54 demo, Morgan attracted a measly 113,000 viewers, which means he was beat by everyone else at CNN during the all-important primetime hours (between 5pm and 10pm), except for the increasingly hapless Erin Burnett, who hit a Soledad O’Brien-level rating low with only 89,000 viewers."

But I'm sure many more subscribers would like to have The Blaze TV added to the Verizon FiOS channel line-up.

News is not defined by a one-night sampling.  Someone like Morgan is dependent on the guest.  (I may have seen his show only twice in the past month myself.>) Also, keep in mind that the USA is NOT the entire world.

CNN CONTINUES REIGN AS NUMBER ONE INTERNATIONAL NEWS AND BUSINESS CHANNEL

CNN reaches more viewers globally than any other international news channel, with findings from both the latest Pan-Asia Pacific Cross-Media survey (PAX) and Europe's Media and Marketing Survey (EMS) reinforcing the network's undisputed leadership position.

The latest PAX findings for the period Q1 to Q4 2011 and Q1 2012 show that CNN continues to be the clear leader in the Asia Pacific region among international news and business channels across all metrics:

  • CNN reaches at least 50% more viewers on a daily, weekly and monthly basis than the next placed channel (BBC World News)
  • CNN reaches almost (96%) as many viewers in a single week as BBC World or Fox News does in a month
  • CNN alone reaches twice as many viewers as the dedicated business news channels (CNBC & Bloomberg TV) combined

Tony Maddox, Executive Vice President of CNN International, said: "What we are seeing is that there continues to be a strong appetite for global news, and that people throughout the world are turning to CNN for that news - and in great numbers.  People want a depth of analysis and a genuine breadth of coverage, and we provided that throughout 2011 wherever the big stories were breaking, and continue to do so in 2012. Add in our commitment to global business news and our excellent sports and cultural programming and there is a clear, compelling proposition for viewers."

The latest PAX findings also highlight CNN's unique ability to reach business leaders and travelers in the Asia Pacific region.

  • More business travelers* watch CNN in a single week than BBC World News in a month
  • Leisure travelers** also have a stronger connection with CNN, with 49% more leisure travelers watching CNN each week than the next placed news/business channel
  • CNN enjoys a clear audience advantage among key business targets, such as Business Decision Makers and Top Management (57% and 42% reach advantage respectively) over the next placed news/business channel

William Hsu, Vice President, News Advertising Sales for CNN in Asia Pacific, added: "Once again, CNN's ability to reach this highly-desirable, upscale target audience is unmatched. There is simply no better platform for advertisers across the Asia Pacific region, and the caliber of our clients is testament to our ongoing best-in-class performance here and around the world."

In addition to CNN's leading on-air positioning, the PAX survey shows that CNN's leadership also extends to its digital platforms.

  • Each month CNN.com/CNNMoney.com reaches 51% more users online than BBC.com, and more than twice as many (+113%) Top Management
  • 95% more business decision Makers visit CNN.com/CNNMoney.com than the next largest international media site
  • CNN's multi-platform reach in Asia Pacific is unrivalled among news/business brands, with the network's  weekly combined TV and digital audiences 54% greater than that of the next largest news/business provider

In Europe, CNN achieved a record score in the latest EMS 2012 research, achieving the best ever score for any news network in monthly reach, with 36.9% (18 million viewers)***. Overall, CNN is also the number one multi-platform news provider in Europe, with 47% monthly combined reach across TV, mobile, and online***.

From The Daily Beast 2/27/13:

CNN Ratings Drop

"There just weren’t enough cruise crises to save CNN this month. CNN’s ratings slid in February, falling 5 percent in the daytime and 1 percent at night in the first full month since the high-profile arrival of new network chief Jeff Zucker at the beginning of the month. Fox News Network won the month with more than 1 million daily viewers, more than MSNBC and CNN combined. In February 2012, CNN came in second and MSNBC third—and, in even worse news for CNN, the network has seen a 10 percent decline in total daytime viewers and a whopping 18 percent drop in nighttime viewers from one year ago. The much-mocked all-day-long cruise coverage in the middle of month was the only bright spot, with viewership up on February 14."

Well, we never said that Fox (and possibly Blaze) viewers weren't obsessed.  So we'll just assume that viewers of those other channels have more to do in their lives than spend it with pseudo-news channels.. As well as better things to watch besides their ravings. I know I do. (And CNN is still number one around the world, if not in the US)  And perhaps the CNN drop might have more to do with more people now getting jobs!  lol

"perhaps the CNN drop might have more to do with more people now getting jobs"

I have been working part, full and/or overtime for 41 years.

I am a part of the top 10% of income earners who pay 70% of all income tax.

I spend approximately $300 per month for Verizon FiOS & Wireless service.

If Verizon is interested in retaining my business they would be wise to offer the programming choices I am interested in receiving.

If you don't want to be an informed American, then ignore FOX News, The Blaze TV, The Drudge Report, etc.

But if Verizon is going to carry channels like Current (a.k.a. Al Jazeera) TV it will be in their best interest to also offer the kind of programming, their subscribers are requesting, who are paying the bills.

Verizon.  Please start carrying The Blaze network.  This is a channel that I have been wanting and I will be making my decision to continue my services with the cable company that can provide it for me.  Thanks.
