I'm currently working on canceling my Verizon Fios plan too because of the Weather Channel. In February, I renewed with Verizon for 2-years and then a month later they take away one of my favorite channels and say I have to pay to get out of the contract.  If not now in two years I will gladly cancel Verizon.

you guys need to go back to the table, renegotiate, and GET THE WEATHER CHANNEL BACK!! Accuweather doesn't cut it. Nice website - I look at it a lot - tv channel - no good. there's only one weather channel and I need it back. My two primary channels are weather channel and CNN. I look to the weather channel every morning to help me decide how to dress for my day, and for long term plans in days ahead. I want my Local on the 8's!

I feel like I'm paying a high price for this service, and do NOT watch so many channels - SPORTS - please, take them away! I do not watch any sporting events but feel like I'm paying for people who do.

Why can't this be like an ala carte menu, and you choose ONLY what you want and pay for only what you want? I'd be thrilled if Verizon was set up with a sports package (which I could choose to NOT have), an arts and culture package, a family package, a package for shows that appeal to teens and 20-somethings, etc. so I could never have to see a sports channel or home shopping channel ever again.

But, of course, there should be a news package and a basic package and one of those must include THE WEATHER CHANNEL!!!

p.s. -one program that my Verizon does not carry and I wish it did - Grannys on Safari! I miss that show! Please consider adding it in - if you develop an ala carte menu system it can be part of the Travel Package! ❤️ ❤️

I agree with all the other comments.  Please bring back the Weather Channel.  AccuWeather is a joke.  The content is not specific to my region.  The Weather Channel and it's companion SD channel (can't remember the name) were great.  I could get my local weather all the time.  Now I see a screen that's half filled with forecasts for regions I could care less about.  Hey Accu Weather who designed your screen.  It's awful.  Just another reason for me to cust the cord in December when my contract is up.

I, too, absolutely hate the "replacement" for the Weather Channel.  As boaters, we need to see accurate weather; in the winter, my husband depends on the Weather Channels accurate forecasting so he knows what to expect when he needs to plow for his company.  Please Please Please bring back the Weather Channel.  Your Accu Weather is a disgrace!

I too hate AccuWeather and find it to be less than quality programming on Verizon's long list of decreasing valuable services. I will be cancelling my services within the next few months. Taking off TWC is the straw that broke the camel's back. Good riddance Verizon.

I hate AccuWeather.......how come customers did not have a choice or a vote to keep The Weather Channel???? AccuWeather stinks, there are no REAL stories nor do the show any weather people out in the field......this is the worst, I watch the weather channel everyday. I might just think about changing my service to someone who has The Weather Channel!!! I hate this.....ugh !

The Weather Channel is also one of my more watched channels. The weather scan because it provides detailed weather forcasts and analysis plus warnings. During hurricane sandy leading up to it, The Weather Channel was one of the first to forcast days in advance the impending disaster and let people know what we were in for and then report  the conditions and warnings as it worsened untill the services went out with the 12 ft storm surge where i am. Ive called and complained and harassed them, and you get the same double speak! I just renewed too 3 months ago and got a very good package but who cars if they dont supply my favoritechannel. I beleive they have voided the contract by not supplying one of the top watched cable channels in the country and as such I am not responsible for any ETF> I get a feeling they mayintend to either not bring it back at all or make us wait months to make  TWC sweat. but TWC has NAtional coverage on virtually every provider so ultimately fios will suffer> I would suggest that everyone dissatisfied with this  fios decision, call customer service, choose option 4 to cancel and then give the CSR an ultimatum, that you will cancel if the weather channels not back by whatever day! LEt them n\know how much you want this channel!  Mt local cable company will cover the ETF if I switch to them, Although i will not pay the etf untill They have reimbursed me for them on an invoice. I will be with fios for a few more days unless i have tTWC back the cable installation is already sceduled. FIGHT THEM people!

Accuweather is in no way a substitute for the Weather Channel.  I relied on Local on the 8s because I knew that I could get my LOCAL weather at XX:X8.  I had to wait at most 10 minutes. I used the Weather Channel every morning and every evening to check the weather.

I live in DC. Now, whenever I check Accuweather, they are showing the forecast for Harrisburg or Pittsburg or somewhere else in PA --- which is not relevant to me in the least.

Verizon: suck it up; lose a little of your profit; make your customers happy; bring back the Weather Channel.

That will never happen. If anything your bill would go up.

I'm not a fan of Accuweather myself, but honestly I never watched TWC either. If I want weather I can easily access local channel's weather at anytime by several ways.

I'm amazed that people will actually cancel their service over the TWC when they can easily access weather elsewhere. I'll bet half of those that say it never do. Even if I watched it, just because it was dropped isn't going to cause me to cancel service. I could see a major channel, but TWC?  I'd much rather have my bill stay the same then see an increase just because of TWC. To each their own I guess.

You would be surprised how many people still only have cable TV and a landline phone.  Verizon seems to be more for the younger generation but there are millions of older folks who don't use a computer or have cell phones.  I myself have a flip phone but in order to get weather on my phone, I will have to pay $30 more a month to Verizon for internet (that I really don't want)  to get what I used to get on my TV that I am already paying for.  The world doesn't seem to care about the less fortunate or the elderly anymore. Sad, very sad.
