@bdguide wrote:I think it is about time that we get Re-imbursed for Programing being dropped that we did not agree to. We were not given any choice at all, which is a contract Breach on Verizons part. We had paid for the Weather channel, not the garbage you have given us, I can tell the weather better just by looking out the window, Very very sad .
I suggest you actually read your contract. By your statement it's obvious you have not. They are not in breach, they can add or subtract channels per the contract YOU agreed to when you signed on.
ALL cable companies add and drop channels all the time.

I'm voting "Bring Back The Weather Channel" with my wallet. My contract's up and I'm cancelling Verizon FiOS today. Sorry to go, but I don't want to pay for a product that I'm not happy with. I'll be back if they bring back The Weather Channel.
When I told the Verizon representative why I was leaving, he told me: "Well, we got rid of that a while back."

With this possible monster storm, Matthew heading up the East Coast, there are MILLIONS of your customers that really need The Weather Channel. Isn't there someway you can get it? Possibly re-negotiate the agreement? I would be willing to pay more to get it.
It's times like this that I really am disappointed with FIOS.

Not me, AccuWeather has more than enough coverage. And count me out of the I'd pay more for the Weather channel, I already pay WAY too much and the Weather channel was NOT worth what they wanted. If they had just stuck to thier Weather concept rather than start with all the garbage programming I may feel different.

Long thread on Weather channel to Accuweather change.
This is a peer to peer discussion, and probably will be merged with that other thread. Don't expect Verizon to respond. They made the switchover and some others also did or at least have threatened to do so because of the High Price the Weather channel was asking for and after it had drifted away to showing lot of non-weather programming.
Accuweather service is actually pretty good. The TV channel not so good.

Yes over a year and a half ago.
And a recent article said that weather channel has lost 12 million subscribers in the past 4 years. So it seems as though FiOS is not the only system to drop them.
FYI, AccuWeather has been in business longer than weather channel. Been supplying weather forecasts to local channels for years. May not be as polished twc on screen, but certainly have the experience.
