I dont miss TWC at all. People think the world is coming to an end without TWC and it seems to me people cant keep their family safe or them selfs because its gone? Really people. I hope TWC never comes back maybe TWC will get off there high horse and stop thinking everything in the weather revolves around them . If I want to see the weather I turn on Weathernation on CH-466 has everything TWC has, local weather, radar in the corner of the screen, etc. I find it funny that there are 3 people on Weathernation that use to be on TWC.

If you want to discuss the removal of TWC, sure, this is as good a place as any to do that.

However, most posters here are trying to "send Verizon a message" to get them to bring TWC back.  The simple fact is Verizon doesn't monitor these forums for those types of posts.  People posting here thinking Verizon will "hear their voice" are just wasting their time.  They might as well stand on a sidewalk and shout "VERIZON: I WANT TWC BACK."  It would work just about as well as posting such demands here.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, the only way to "send Verizon a message" that they will hear, is to cancel your service and tell them why.  You can cancel while under contract, it simply costs more money.  The question is very simple; how much is TWC worth to you?  If you don't want to pay the switching costs to go to another carrier, then I'd say it isn't worth that much to you.

Oh, my 75+ year old mother and in-laws all have smart phones, tablets and computers.  The older generation isn't as out-of-touch as you think.

Enjoy.

I too don't miss the TWC channel.  If I want to see what TWC is saying I can always do it online.  But as for Weathernation, it's not available here in the New York area or  in many other parts of the country.

This is a quote from Weathernation's website:

"We are available to viewers nationwide through satellite provider DIRECTV and through local TV broadcast digital stations in more than 20 major cities, including Boston, Minneapolis, Seattle, Washington, D.C., Denver and Atlanta."

Not exactly nationwide coverage.  At least not yet.

We live in Virginia, and we don't have Weathernation.  Last night, we tried going to Channel 49 for Verizon's useless Weatherbug, and Verizon has REMOVED that channel altogether!  So now we only have the useless Accuweather.

Even though those of us posting in this forum have access to the Internet, we really used Weatherscan (Ch. 49) several times a day as it was so quick and convenient to see if bad weather was in the area or on the way . . . especially helpful for outdoor activities, as well.  We don't leave our desktop computer on all the time, so it isn't quick  to go to the computer and check the radar online.  The cost of a smart phone and its subsequent contract isn't worth being able to see live radar.

You are just noticing it? It's been down for months now. I don't think you used it as much as you said you did if you are just now noticing it's gone.

Bingo. I know a lot of elderly people including family who know how to use a simple device.

Not all smart phones are complicated unless one makes them. How hard is it to teach someone something as well?

It doesn't take much to show someone how to push a few buttons. It's no different then pushing a remote button.

Everyone keeps making excuses as to why they can't access their weather information elsewhere which I find amazing.

What if TWC didn't even exist at all anymore?
I guess it would be the apocalypse for some. wow. lol

You are very heartless and cruel.  The elderly in my family do not have computers or cell phones.  They have landline phones and TV's - period.  They have been hardworking simple folks all their lives and now you want to slap them in the face.  No wonder this country is going down the toilet.

Things have been changing since the beginning of time. New things are adapted, things evolve, etc.

If one doesn't want to adapt that's up to them, but why act like this is something that just started happening.

TV's didn't even exist at one time. Age is nothing but an excuse. My father in law is 72 and disabled, but that didn't stop him from learning how to use a computer that I gave him.

This is my last post in this thread and I will leave it at this.

Some of you are taking this weather channel issue way far beyond where it needs to go and turning it into something bigger then it really is.

So if it is so out of date to want to watch weather reporting on TV instead of on a computer, then it is also out of date to watch the news on TV. Verizon should dump CNN. It must be old fashioned to watch movies, sit-coms, and sports on TV too. They should dump all the movie channels, and ABC, CBS, NBC, and ESPN since all of that programming has "evolved" beyond TV and can be seen on other technology. Oh and HGTV and DIY, they might as well dump those channels too because you can find how to's and home decorating ideas on YouTube and google searches. Heck, Verizon should just shut it all down since anything and everything can be found online. They no longer need to be in the cable TV business. And of course TV's didn't exist at one time. Your smart phone didn't exist at one time. So what's the point? It doesn't matter. Goodnight. Sincara said: Things have been changing since the beginning of time.
