I have searched and have not found out HOW NUCH AMC wants to be paid.  If we start abandoing our providers, be it Verizon, Dish etc. that just means the networks have more leverage to use against our providers.  I don't think Verizon is "dropping" AMC but perhaps AMC is making unreasonable demands for compensation.  I love walking dead but really from a 1 hour show it is only about 42 minutes or less, I haven't timed it lately.  If Verizon/Dish etc pay more for AMC who do you think is going to get hit with that cost?  Have AMC ASK us how much they want per subscriber so we can see if we WANT to pay that much more!

DONT DROP AMC

Whatever you do, keep AMC! Shows are outstanding and original: they at least have plots and good acting, even if the actors are for the most part "unknowns", among other things! Why get rid of channels that offer entertaining shows while so many other channels just offer plain mindless junk that are repeated at nauseum! If you get rid of AMC or other such channels, there is no reason for the consumers to stay. Keep AMC is all I have to say.

DROP AMC NOW!

Appears that AMC is the pinnacle of how corporate American greed affects so many.  Clearly, AMC is demanding more money, and I say that Verizon should NOT concede to their demands.

For those that think dropping Verizon will have any affect, just wait until you sign a contract with Comcast and pay handsomely to watch The Walking Dead and Breaking Bad.

Dropping AMC??? Have you lost your minds??? Does Verizon have one solid clue as to how essential that network is to it's subscribers? Why would you consider dropping AMC under any circumstances? Is this some sort of show of solidarity for those creeps over at Dish Satellite? Please Verizon don't make their battle yours...it will cost you dearly. As a provider you will come off looking like the biggest backward cable provider in history by taking away such a central in-demand mainstay and it will cost you more revenue than you can afford to lose in this economy. You ride your customers about "copyright infringement" yet what do you think will happen the second that you drop AMC? I beg you to reconsider this ill-conceived move before its too late and you lose droves of customers in protest. Wake up and smell the coffee AMC...your subscribers won't stand for this for one second. You don't owe Dish anything...don't do this. In the end if you rip from us programming we cherish and live for we will have our revenge monetarily. We will not have The Walking Dead, Mad Men and Breaking Bad taken from us...we will fight you tooth and nail! We will NOT be threatened with the loss of programming we live for.

Stop trolling dude.

This thread is useless until we know why Verizon would consider dropping AMC.  Maybe it's AMC that is causing the problems.  They did the wrong thing by publicly announcing that Verizon may be dropping their programming without presenting both sides of the story.  For all intents and purposes, AMC could be demanding a ridiculous amount of money that VZ simply cannot afford to pay.  While AMC does have some good series, if Verizon decides to drop them, I will live without it.  FIOS is a great service and I am very confident that Verizon do the best they can to keep AMC.  It all comes down to money and clearly, AMC wants more....

AMC fans – We know how important AMC is to you!  Verizon has been working with AMC Networks in recent weeks to extend our agreement to carry AMC, WE, IFC and Sundance.  It is unfortunate that AMC has decided to unnecessarily publicize these negotiations.

FiOS TV customers are guaranteed to continue to receive AMC, WE, IFC and Sundance through the end of the year, and we fully expect all AMC Networks’ programming will continue to be available on FiOS TV well beyond that, without any service interruptions.

Thank you,

Heather
