And I am hoping to win the Powerball lottery, unfortunately I think the odds of that happening and Verizon adding those HD channels in the next few weeks are exactly the same.  I would LOVE to have H2 in HD, only I am not holding my breath. Apparently the ONLY channel we are getting anytime soon is the TV Guide-HD channel. That is as big of a waste as those god awful .tv channels.

I was at a friends house with DTV for the Super Bowl.  Before the game I got to switch around the channels to check out their new HD offerings..  HLN, H2 and Cooking all looked real good on their 57" plasma.

VERIZON .... Are you listening?

Ever actually look at all the HD channels Direct TV does not have and verizon does?  Also I'd never go back to  satellite.  Having my picture go out because of a small cloud or a little foliage is just pathetic.

We do need more HD channels.  Not BeIn. Not Blaze.

The list of missing HD channels on Verizon are above.  You know the list HLN, H2, TVLand, Cooking, CBS Sports, Fuse, TCM .........

Verizon will rarely announce a future channel add, until about the time the channel is being rolled out.

However, with today's e-mail about the migration to MPEG-4 on 20 channels, I would expect some additions soon after the dust settles.

Some people (not me) have received an email from Verizon saying that around Arpirl 15 there will be some new HD channels, and they will be distributed in MPEG4, which the Motorola QIP6xxx boxes cannot receive. So if you have any of those boxes you can get them replaced for free.

Here is a poorly formatted text copy of the email:

Dear Valued Verizon Customer,

To provide you the very best entertainment experience, Verizon continues to enhance our FiOS®network. We wanted you to be aware of an upcoming change that may impact how you view certain HD channels.

On or after April 15, 2013, we will be making a change to our network which may require that you exchange your current High Definition Set Top Box (STB)** if you want to access the HD channels impacted by this change (list provided below). The exchange is provided at no cost to you. If you choose to exchange your STB, it's a simple process. You can order a new STB directly from your FiOS® TV and we will promptly mail it to you, along with a box and pre-paid label so you can easily return your old STB.

You are not required to exchange your Set Top Box

If you want to view the impacted channels below on or after April 15, 2013, then you may be required to exchange your current Set Top Box at no cost to you

Set Top Box exchange is a simple process - your FiOS TV will guide you through the process in a few easy steps. On or after April 15, 2013, when you tune to one of the impacted channels below, your FiOS TV will recommend you exchange your Set Top Box and show you how to do so

Verizon will ship your new Set Top Box promptly, and include a box and pre-paid shipping label to return your old Set Top Box. We'll also include simple instructions for connecting your new Set Top Box

If you have multiple boxes that are impacted by this network change, your FiOS TV will prompt you to exchange all boxes that require a replacement, again at no cost to you

Here are the channels impacted by our network change on or after April 15, 2013:

Thanks Justin. This looks like a good choice of channels to ease into the conversion to MPEG4. Verizon needs to balance the demand for channels with the availability of boxes, and this looks like a great starting point.
