The guide, and even the program listings on the Verizon website, indicate that WLNY in HD is on channel 510, but it can not be accessed. Even when you tune to channel 10 it has the message to press the "C" button to view in HD, but when you do a message comes up that the channel is not available. When will this be active, anyone know?
Channel 10 in sd has been available for a while now but channel 510 in hd was added over a month ago where it is not the only channel that is having this issue. Channel 479 america teve has no logo and also has the same "unable to tune in to this channel" message where it was added two months ago where there is a schedule to tape off of but since you do not have access to the channel then you can not set anything up to tape. There is also a major problem with channel 477 where the affiiliate that carries that channel also provides three other channels too. The problem with it is that it switches feeds on its own from the channels that are in english to channels that are in spanish to a channel that is from india where the logo that is on the guide does not match the feed so what the channel is supposed to be changes almost everyday. I have passed on the problems with these channels to verizon's top network teams and techs who are trying to resolve these issues for me and for a lot of other people who are having the same issues. It appears verizon prematurely added WLNY (We Love New York) HD before they were given the green light by the channel to do so and the same goes for america teve. There are issues with the guide along with these that will be addressed in the next guide update that will be out soon where what verizon will be primarily focusing on will be the on demand issues with the guide and the color of it which a lot of people said was too dark for them.
I reported the WLNY-HD problem to tech support last week. They told me they are aware of the problem and are working on it. Apparently the station was supposed to launch around 10/31 but there were complications fixing it due to the storm. They could not give me an ETA on a fix.
