Whats wrong with the new TV guide ???

I am unable to keep the channels in the Favorites mode like I was with the old version. Why does it always revert to all channels after exiting the guide when I want to continue in the Favorites mode ??? Whats the use of the favorites if it's not going to continue in that mode ?? You also get less channels per page with the new guide. Why the change ? I havn't seen any new features that explain the change.

Verizon likes to keep you on your toes, that's all.  (HA!)

Here's how you fix.  Go to Menu / Settings / Television / Last Viewed Guide State, then check off "enable".

I just checked off several favorite stations on mine and all I do is click on the heart button for favorties or options and all of my saved favorites come up in a condensed TV Guide list.

The new blue background is horrible. Makes the TV guide harder to read. The old version was much easier to read. Please go back to it.

You know what?  I don't mean to be rude but this time I am really deciding not to respond to this anymore.  This whole thing is redundant and depressing.

In regards to 'Favorites' button.

I have both HD and STD boxes. The 'favorites'  on the HD controller works fine (like it did before the new stuff).

On the STD controller / box,  pushing the favorites button always decreases the channel by a couple of channels.  The more you push the button ,the channel you are previewing decreases until it hits channel 1 then wraps around to the top and continues decrementing.

Also on the STD controller - I have different sets of channels on favorites 1 and 2.  Pushing the 'Favorites' button will go to the next lower channel (as expected) on the list but does not return to the higher channel when you switch back.

It makes using the 'Favorites' button on the controller for the STD box frustrating.

And the screen is harder to read with the new color scheme - it needs more contrast.

The screen needs more contrast?  It has also been stated here repeatedly that maybe you need to adjust your calibration settings (brightness, contrast, etc.).  I would think that the calibration settings being too high would cause problems but if you want more contrast, then adjust the contrast level and make it higher.  Justin has posted pictures of his guide display which looks exactly the same as mine and I don't see anything wrong with it. You can also change the display from HD to Standard to make the print larger.

That's why I can't pay attention to this anymore.  I'm sorry but it's petty stuff.  If you had Cablevision, you would have to switch to a specific channel just for a TV Guide Display and you can't select your program and change the channel with Cablevision's TV Guide Display.  You have to manually type in the channel number each time and when you get the synopsis on the bottom of the screen, it's black print over a white background, the same kind of graphics I have to deal with at work everyday....talk about something annoying and hard on your eyes even with a flatscreen.  That's what my family has and they would gladly switch to Verizon but they can't because Verizon is not available in their area.

So I don't know what you are complaining about.  I don't really understand your complaint about the Favorites option.  Once my favorites are up, I scroll up and down to select the channel I want just like with the full length guide and then I'm done.  If I hit the favorites option button twice, it just reverts back to the full TV Guide display of all channels.

Here is the picture he was referring to:

This is what I see on my six year old Sony LCD HD TV from my QIP7232 DVR with 1.9. Sorry for the quality of the picture, photography is not one of my talents.....but maybe at least you can get an idea of what I see.

I have had 1.9 since August, and I am very satisfied with all aspects of it - readability, speed, new function, quality, etc.

Hope this helps.....
