I was going to order the NHL 1/2 season deal, and order the baseball package, but only one HD in demand channel is a deal breaker. I know it is offered by TWC, so it is available.
While the SD picture is pretty good, I would prefer the two HD channels for the price that is being charged.
Any news on this ?
Thanks !

No info, but thanks for the update that the FIOS approach is still lame. First they fail to deliver as promised in year one, then the crappy one HD channel last year and now we know it's more of the same.
I kept my DTV for NFL games and normally scale it back after the football season. Looks like it's another summer of watching nearly ALL the MLB games in HD over the satellite. So why is Verizon so inept that they can't work out a deal with MLB directly like the others do? I mean they finally dumped that half-wit Eric Rabe that screwed it up initially.
I'll be keeping my FIOS, but they aren't getting any of my $$ for their poor versions of extra programming.

Good news - Braves win on Opening Day 2010.
Bad news - Verizon still only carry one of the two MLB Extra Innings HD channels offered by In-Demand.

I noticed today that channel 1001 is on. Right now, the screen only says "HDPPV" but I thought it was interesting that the channel is on at the same time as the free preview. The next game scheduled for GAME HD2 is Devils @ Panthers, Thursday at 7:30. We'll have to see what happens. Maybe it will be GAME HD2, or maybe it will just turn off again.

What channel is the HD MLB?
I am watching Rays-Orioles right now and the SD quality is truly horrible.
Do we know why all games aren't in HD?
The In Demand advertisment says something about choose your announcers. I don't see anything about that at all though...
Has anyone tried to cancel a subscription like this? I am thinking about doing it and subscribing to MLB.TV online...

HD is on channel 1474. The channels are shared with NHL Center Ice this week, so there are few or no dual feeds. Some people here will bag on Verizon for not carrying every feed in HD like DirecTV, but all cable companies carry the games on the feeds from iNDemand. Since Verizon doesn't already carry every channel in every region, they also use the iNDemand feeds, which are provided externally. DirecTV does have the advantage of already carrying most of the channels that show these games, so they can map the channels differently and group the package accordingly.

To claify, "iN DEMAND" provide MLB Extra Innings to Verizon Fios.
iN DEMAND offer two HD channels, but Verizon choose to only carry one of them.
However, Verizon still charge the full price for the product.
