Don't know where else to write this but I just had to vent... Verizon just added another $2.42 charge for a "Regional Sports Network Fee" and then I get an email that they're dropping espn classic. Nice .. they charge you more for less product... As if cable isn't outrageously expensive enough! Something's gotta change.

They are not dropping the channel, it is only being removed from the Extreme tier. If you subscribe to the Ultimate tier or when they offer the new sports package you will still continue to get the channel. And while agree with you about the sports fee more and more cable compaines are charging that. I think DirecTV's is $5.00. The BIGGEST reason why cable tv is so expensive are the sports channels.

I suppose that's why they don't offer a decent level of programming without sports channels.

You couldn't pay me $2.42 a month to watch ESPN Classic for 5 minutes. Useless channel.

ESPN Classic is a part of the new Sports Pass tier, which is $9.99 a month. From talking with Verizon reps, this is a separate sports package from the Extreme Sports Package people may have.

The rising costs are mostly because of rising prices of many channels, but mainly sports. The big groups of channels like FOX, Turner, Viacom, and Comcast seem to be pushing for the biggest increases.

And why is it necessary to move a channel from one package to another. When I purchased the package it was because of the channels that was available. When you sell the package should tell people that you can change what channels they see at your whim. This is shady and unethical
business practice. It just so happens that I watch ESPN Classic and it was one of the reasons I purchased the package that I have.

It becomes necessary to move channels because prices for this and other channels always go up, and lots of people will complain if the package prices are constantly going up. The price for extreme (and future packages) will eventually rise, but this is one way to keep it steady for a while.
