My first one-year contract is up next month. I was exploring options on-line and the only bundle that came up was the Ultimate HD. A Verizon chat representative said that because I currently have the original Extreme HD their system will only allow me to upgrade to the Ultimate HD- I was not allowed to make a choice. If my contract is up, why can't I pick whatever new bundle I want? But no matter what you do the on-line system only gives you one choice - the most expensive one. This does not seem fair to me.

No, it's not fair.  I'd recommend you stick with the package you have.  Otherwise, you won't ever be able to go back, and will likely lose channels that you might not wish to.

Stay tuned. I ran into the same issues and it has been discussed in various locations in these forums. Public and private, and I am waiting for some answers that make sense. I am in my second year of the price guarantee. If I don't change anything during my second year all will remain the same. There are a few channels that come with the Prime HD, drop out of Extreme HD, and Come back with Ultimate HD. Confuses many.

Tell me about it, Priasz. I can't figure out for the life of me why they'd only put Hallmark Movie, Gospel Music, RetirementTV, and BlueHighways on the Prime and Ultimate packages, but not the Extreme. Doesn't make any sense.

film 11 suggests I stick with the package I have ( the old Extreme HD). I would love to, but it that possible?  My contract runs out in March - won't I be forced to choose a new version of the bundles?

The only thing that will change after your contract expires is the price. It will go up to regular price, but you will keep all the channels you currently have. You can keep everything the same, but as soon as you make a change, that package is lost forever.

I am facing the same problem. To keep my old bundle including Extreme HD, I would have to pay $150 a month. And the only  new bundle available ot me is the Ultimate HD at $125 a month. I would like to keep my old bundle, but since I can get more channels at a lower price, it does not make sense to do so.

What Verizon should be providing to me is whether the new Prime and Extreme packages are available and at what prices.

Which takes us back to where I started from - why can't I choose which one of the 3 new bundles I want?  Why is it Ultimate or nothing? Will someone from Verizon explain why you are not allowed to pick what you want. Why to do have to upgrade? Why?

Does your two year price guarantee expire in March or just your 1 year commitment?

When most of us signed up two years ago, it was a 1 year commitment, and a two year price guarentee. If that is your case, the bundle may not show the bundle as one single price after the first year, but the total will still equal the price of the bundle as mine does. As long as you make no changes, your programming and price will stay the same until the end of the second year.

If you wish to make any changes to say the new 25/25 Extreme bundle, you would need to call and have the change made over the phone. It is my understanding that the online system will only allow you to upgrade.

Is there somewhere on-line that you can see your agreement?  I'm sorry to say that I honestly don't know the details beyond the fact that it was a one year committment. I just signed up a year ago - I don't recall anything about a 2 year price guarantee, but I'm not sure. Is my original agreement available somewhere? Thanks.
