Absolutely outrageous. There are a good 20 HD channels customers want before that Byron Allen garbage. Seriously is some higher up at Verizon betrothed to Byron Allen or something? His channels are terrible. They have 4 or 5 shows that repeat 24/7. They are the WORST channels on all of FIOS. Verizon played hardball with RFD TV, which many customers like, and then resigns with this huckster without a problem? They took away several Premium channels I am paying for, but continue to keep this trash.

Well you know that while you may not like those channels. Many do. According to my friend at Verizon, they had more complaints about moving those .tv channels to the "ultimate HD" package only than any other channel move or removal other than Hallmark Movie channel. Only the HMC created a bigger stir than those .tv channels. He says that they still get more complaints about those .tv channels not being available to lower packages than any other tv channel request at this point. Seems strange to me and he says that he was very supprised about it too, but that is what they are seeing.

What a waste! Don't they read the comments about those channels? It is a waste of space. We are giving up 6 requested channels for a group of infomercial channels, that most people don't care about. Wake up Verizon!

I've heard some good stories in my time but this one takes the cake. Friends hear bad stories too.

YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT IS UP WITH THE DOPES THAT RUN THIS COMPANY!!?!?!?!?!?! 6 channels of SD .....
I think you meant HD which is 3 times worse as 6 SD would fit on a single QAM, but 6 HD use up 3 QAMs

What he meant is that the majority of the time on those channels are filled with SD infomercials. Also, I find it VERY hard to believe that more have complained about the loss of those channels than MGM-HD. (Unless, like the Fox Soccer fans, it's a tiny group that is very loud.)
But...what makes this REALLY worrisome is that I've heard the .tv channels aren't cheap! And, while I don't know what the terms of the new deal are (but Byron Allen originally stated the sub fees for the bundle were "substantial"), if Verizon has to pay even more to keep these channels for years to come, how will that impact our subscription charges in the future?

You are exactly correct. This is why I am sooooooooooo upset with Verizon and why I despise these channels so much. They are NOT cheap, the fact that any of my monthly subscription money goes to pay for these Infomercial/Commercial laden garbage channels burns me up to no end. Then add to it they are taking up those valuable QAM spots that could be used for channels we would actually watch and the last thing is that Verizon removed HD channels that I watched to add a couple of new HD channels. All the while these garbage .tv, channels that 99.99% of FiOS subscribers never watch, (I know there are one or two people that enjoy watching commercials) remain!!!!!!!!!! Simply PATHETIC!!! And to answer your question about how it will effect rates going forward, it will really peeve me when they come out with the SUPER ASTRONOMICAL HD package in 2011 that costs even more that the Ultimate HD package does now (which will include the costs of the garbage .tv channels as well).
