I have the DVR + HD, Phone, FIOS, package with no premium channels.  NYC area.

I am not able to view the following HD channels: ES.TV, Cars.TV (ch599), Pets.TV (ch633), ReceipeTV (ch676).

It tells me to subscribe, which i hit OK but says unable to process at this time.

Can you see what is wrong?  Am i suppose to be able to watch these channels?

I am in the NY area, Yonkers.  I have the Extreme Package and I get all of the channels you listed above.  I just checked on it before posting this, since I have never watched them before.  And to the poster that claimed that we don't get  MGM HD and Hallmark Movie Channel with the Extreme Package in NY, you are incorrect.  I watch them often.

You obviously have had the Extreme package for awhile now then. I used to get the channels and I resigned my contract last month and lost all those channels and you will too JustaGuy! Check the website, they are No Longer Offered In Extreme!

I have the 2009 Extreme package and received notice that I will be phased into the new 2010 Extreme package in a couple of weeks here in the Tampa market.  All the .tv channels will be removed as well as Hallmark Movie Channel HD and MGM HD.  It looks like everyone with the old extreme package will eventually be moved into a current package.

There hasn't been any notice of anything like that here in NY.  I don't care about the .tv channels I think they are a complete waste of bandwidth and channel numbers that could be better used.  As for the HMC HD & MGM HD I would not be happy if they took them out of the Extreme package.

Of all the channels available with the Extreme Package, I watch about 25 and the locals make up about half of that (There are more locals in NY  I just don't watch some).  If they drop 2 of the remaining 10 to 15, I will be dropping the Extreme package and I will not upgrade to Ultimate and pay more just to get the few channels I now watch.

I don't mine paying a fair price for what I want, but I will not be forced to pay more for an expanded package that I don't need nor want.   I could even reconnect my atenna and get most of what I now watch with it all in HD and this can easily be augmented over the Internet.

If Verizon thinks they can increase profits by forcing people to move with channels, to a higher tier, they are probably making a mistake at least in the NY Metro Area.  There are just too many options available for this to work in my opinion and perhaps they haven't heard, but the economy is not at its best right now.  People are looking to cut expenses, not increase them and expanded TV packages are not high on anyones priority list.

My current contract ends in Oct, I will wait and see.

What I don't understand is this:  My FIOS TV bill was just increased by $10/month because of the channel package changes. Then to top it off, they TAKE AWAY these 10 channels that I've had since I signed up for FIOS  a couple of years ago. How can you charge me more while simultaneously taking channels away?!

I signed up in May (NJ). The channel lineup the sales rep used included many channels that have migrated from Extreme to  the Ultimate package. Of course it takes awhile to figure out you arn't getting what you contracted for....a little Verizon bait and switch.

They make it very difficult to get anyone on the phone .....when you do they are very sorry and would be happy to upgrade to the Ultimate package......nice try!

Agreed.  A reprehensible scam.  I enjoy MGM-HD and to have them remove it, just to force me to pay more for a package filled with channels I DON'T want...what a low move!  I'm already paying for all the premiums, so they take away the one free movie channel we have!  I doubt there's any other provider out there who would intentionally screw-over their subscribers like this.

You may not have gotten notice yet, but you will!.. I've had the EXTREME package for 2 years (also phone and Internet).  I've already gotten notice that my bill will go up ten dollars.  Now, I've just received a notice yesterday that they will be taking away MGM-HD and I can only keep it by paying EVEN MORE for the ULTIMATE package.  The $10 increase, I can live with.  But the bait-and-switch to ULTIMATE is disgusting.  As one who's worked in the business world, this is one of the lowest moves I've seen from a company.
