I too have had that issue for several days where when i launch the associated press widget and try to scroll down the stories to read any of them what happens is that it gets stuck where there is a very slow response but in reality it feels as if the widget is not responding to the commands that are coming from the remote to access the stories that are on there. You can go from top stories to world stories or sports stories very easily but when you actually try to read or open up a story to read all of it the widget is unresponsive. Verizon's widget team in virginia needs to be notified about this because they are going to start getting more and more complaints about it once people start to realize that the ap widget is an issue again. I remember that at some point last year because it continued to malfunction the ap widget was pulled for many months where people were demanding that it be brought back. The same thing also had been happening to the tmz widget where eventually verizon decided that it was not worth it anymore so they dropped the tmz widget. Hopefully that is not what will end up happening with the ap widget but it would not surprise me if it did because verizon is going to have to find new ways to try to pay for all of the sports channel increases that are on their way for all of the regional sports networks that they carry. The ap widget is a valuable widget that is sort of like having the best news stories from around the country and around the world where you not only get news about what is going on in the united states but you also get world news, sports news, entertainment news, business news, and health news. Verizon needs to fix the widget before the it starts to break down entirely where no customer will even be able to launch the widget when they want to.
The problem with the associated press widget has been resolved from what i can tell as i have used it without having any issues with it recently. It was malfunctioning for almost a week but it appears to have been fixed. Another problem that has now popped up is with another widget which is the nba widget. It has not updated in almost a week where the standings, the news and even the lastest scores for the games that were played are from almost a week ago. Rather than just launching the widget to see the latest scores, standings, or news people now have to go to the espn website to find out that information rather than having the ability to launch the nba widget with all of the latest updates. Usually what happens with widgets is that things usually start out slow where you see some glitches or it does not respond as it should then at some point because no one at verizon has fixed it the widgets break down completely and have to be pulled. What is often said by those who can correct these kinds of issues is if they had been notified sooner then there would have been no need to have pulled the widgets like they have done before in the past with the tmz and ap widgets.
