I am using the HDMI port to connect to my Sony BRAVIA KDL hi def TV. I am getting momentary audio dropouts on a fairly regular basis using a high def STB. I do not get these dropouts on another TV using a non high def STB.
Are there hand shaking problems with the high def STB using the HDMI port?
I had the same problem when I got my new Bravia KDL 52". I have the HDMI cable from the HD STB to the Sony home theater and then to the TV. (My Sony Blu Ray also goes to the home theater). I was getting audio and video dropouts.
The HDMI cables I was using apparently were not compatible. So, I ordered new 1.3A version cables cheaply on www.monoprice.com and used the 3 new ones and everything is WONDERFUL. Try it - it is not expensive.
